Automatic Windows - Canbus Maybe?

Hi All,

Have been thinking that my Fiesta lacks an "automatic windows up" feature upon me double locking the doors from the key fob...

This then begged the question in my mind, are the windows still controlled in an "old-school" manor like on older fiestas, where the switches actually handled the current... Or is there some kind of microcontroller/window control module somewhere.

I'm leaning towards there being a window control module, in which case i'm hoping to be able to do some CAN bus sniffing and try and write some software accordingly.

Just wondered if anyone had any info on the window control system that's in place... is it all relay's or is it a bit smart?

There is a module available on eBay that plugs into the OBD port but only works on cars with all electric windows and possibly only on the Focus.

May be worth looking into.

Thanks for the reply... That's very interesting, and seems to be exactly what I was aiming for. I may buy one and give it a go, although I don't have much hope for it working with the fiesta as it does specifically say "focus"...
