ozzy_wilson
Hi I have recently purchased a 2005 ford focus 2.0 tdci zetec with the 6 speed manual gearbox. All the gears are fine and no funny noises but every now and then it jumps out of second gear. Never jumps out of any others. The car has covered 111000 miles. Is this just wear and tear or could anything just need adjusting?

danielgricks
I have a 2005 Focus Titanium 1.6 petrol from new, 65,000 miles. 2nd gear occasionally jumps out at low speed, on the overrun, downhill and on bumpy surfaces. This has been happening for some while When in those conditions jumping out is prevented by holding the stick back. Apart from that the box works fine. This suggests engine/gearbox mountings or gear change link problems. Has anyone had any ideas as mechanics who have looked at it can't find any problem?
