DanGersFord
Just goes to show you exactly how much the government rip off us motorists! For all their excuses that they cannot do anything about the rising price of fuel, well heres an idea, why not half the amount of tax on it, that would easily save every motorist £0.40-£0.50 per litre
Incontro
VAT = a tax on tax.
b1g_dav3
Imagine if they cut that... No parties at Conservative HQ that Christmas... Or the free bar they have in the commons. 40p less a litre and I'd probably be on 20K by now lol.
jeebowhite
Its crazy! This is something that does my head in, I pay tax on my wages, that goes to the government, I pay council tax, which tops up the taxes and pays for the same things that the wages pay for. Then I pay taxes on what I buy, fuel tax, goes to top up the wage tax. but also pays for my road use, as too does my Tax Disc on the car... I am fed up of being taxed, if I only paid once for one tax at a reasonable amount, I would be satisfied to an extent.
