Hey,

I'm trying to work out the BHP per ton of the mk7 Fiesta...

However, I don't know how many ton's it weighs lol.

Its suposed to be 40KG lighter than the previous model, but I don't know how much that one weighs either! lol.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

p.s. I know some will be slightly heavier than others with alloys, leather etc but it won't make that much of a difference, will it?

For a 1.25 (80 bhp) petrol it is:

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 80

Weight without Driver (KG) : 966

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 84.15

Cant get 0-60 etc because the BHP is too low

For a 1.4 petrol it is:

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 94

Weight without Driver (KG) : 966

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 98.87

0 - 60 (Secs) : 10.47

0 - 100 (Secs) : 35.34

60 - 100 (Secs) : 24.88

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 18.97

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 73.26

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 18.77

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 74.48

For a 1.6 petrol engine it is:

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 118

Weight without Driver (KG) : 970

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 123.60

0 - 60 (Secs) : 8.53

0 - 100 (Secs) : 25.48

60 - 100 (Secs) : 16.95

Quarter Mile (Secs) : 17.01

Terminal Speed (MPH) : 81.70

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 16.81

Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 83.09

For a 1.4 diesel it is:

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 67

Weight without Driver (KG) : 1011

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 67.33

Cant get 0-60 etc because the BHP is too low

For a 1.6 diesel it is:

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 88

Weight without Driver (KG) : 1025

Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 87.23

Cant get 0-60 etc because the BHP is too low

Hope this helps :)

How did you get the 1.6 Petrol's 0 - 60 speed of 8.6 seconds?

All the stats say 9.9, and the lowest ive seen (until now) is 9.6??

The above figures DON'T include factors like fuel, the driver, any passegers you may have, wind, rain, road suface or anything like that. It also assumes 100% perfect gear changes

The figures came from this site: http://www.letstorquebhp.com/calculator.asp

I'd better not try to do my 0-60 times with the OH in the car otherwise it'll be up to about 13 secs!!!!! B)
