I had a R reg turbo dealer special edition with front splitter kit and short shift and rear spoiler. It was amazing very fast especially the road holding around the bends, mind you only had about 15k on the clock when I bought it, 96k when I sold and I serviced it at Subaru dealers every 7500 miles which kept it in tip top condition. Know what you mean about French cars. Son has had 2 clios, they are c**p. But now has a Clio sport 197which so far is very good.

FOCA
As far as i can remember my own Fords were - Sierra Cosworth rep Fiesta van Escort van Mondeo mk1 Mondeo mk2 Mondeo mk3 (almost all modified in big or small ways) Present car for 8+years, and Mondeos for 12+ years (off the top of my head) If i put in all my company cars, all my dads' cars i drove, or shared with a partner all the the cars i did up to sell -and my cars from different marques the list would probably run into 100s (if i could remember- some i would rather forget )

Gombal
Fords: Just one, my current one Fusion 3 1.4TDCI (2004). Other cars: Hyundai Pony 1200 GL (1984) Wrecked it because i didn't see the gate had closed for a bridge so drove it right through the gate. Lucky they replaced the bar with a polyester one a few weeks before, used to be a steel one so now i only got a lot of damage instead of a convertible and our heads seperated from our bodies.......... Skoda 130GLS (1986) Nice car to drive and maintain, very simple. If left standing for a couple of days you wouldn't be able to start it because the petrol would flow back to the fuel tank. Before it would reach the carburator again you're battery was dead because of all the starting. Sadly had to go because one day when pulling away full throttle the coolant plug underneath the dashboard decided to pop out and it spilt 10 litres of boiling hot water over my wifes legs. no permanent damage luckily. Subaru 1600 L (1986) Wrecked it whilst towing a trailer with twice the weight of the car and off course i put all the weight in the wrong spot in the trailer. So at 65 km/hr it decided to start fishtailing and the trailer took command and decided the guardrail on the right would be a great place to park against! Very good car, very luxurious for that time. Hyundai Pony 1.3 GL (19??) Traded it in for the Volvo. Volvo 460 1.7 GL (1990) Nice car, drove real fine. Suzuki Swift 1.3 GS (1990) Worst buy ever, not because of the car but because of the excessively negleted maintenance. Had to pay just as much as the car costs to get it fixed. After that a very nice car and no more cost. Suzuki Wagon R+ 1.3 GL (2000) Wife still drives this one. Very good car, already 185.000 kilometres on it, needs new valve seals because when starting the car it first coughs out a cloud of smoke, after that no problem. Mercedes W124 250D (1986) Amazing car, haven't had a car that would be so relaxing to drive and so comfortable. Also maintanance wise, you can do everything yourself, you can get part every where, the dealer still has all the parts, typical Mercedes trademark. Still have it but it's standing in the carport. Because of changing regulations overhere i go from no roadtax to 1500 euros a year. Used to be an oldtimer (25+ years) but they wan't to change that to 40+ years) And oldtimer over here means no roadtax. So decided to suspend it and wait for the outcome of the regulation changes, not permanent yet so maybe it will stay 25+ years and then it will become the summer car. If not it will go, total cost till now, purchase and restoring, about 11.000 euro's, net worth after the regulation changes, about 500 euro's.................! After that the Ford Fusion i currently drive, nice car but no comparison to the Mercedes in every way (handling, comfort, ease of maintenance, cost of parts, etc) even though the Ford is 18 years younger.
