Engine Management Light In Slow Traffic

Hi Guys,

Anyone have any ideas please re my problem.

2001 Ford Focus 1.6 58,000 miles.

The engine management frequently comes on in heavy traffic (rush hour home)

I can reset the light with an OBD11, which incidentally shows no error codes.

The rest of the time the car runs fine

Any ideas gratefully accepted....

Tony

given it happens in slow traffic ide be inclined to say its a temperature issue or a sensor related to the temp

Would have to agree with temp related problem. Does your dash have a temperature reading?

Cheers for that guys, didn't think about the temperature side of things, was thinking emissions or something.

Temperature gauge reads normal but apparently that's nothing unusual on the Focus.

Guessing it could be either the Cylinder head temperature sensor or even the air flow mass meter sensor.

Will explore over the weekend.....
