Jo-el
Hi room. im considering buying a Zetec S. 1.6 2007 the body work is fine, but oviously the engine is what im worried about. Its got no service history so naturally im cautious.... are there any specific things i need to check that could cause problems for this car? P.S i had a 1.3 MK6 before, never had muc prblem with it. thanks
Hjalle
Im no mechanic and I know all cars are different but my 1.6 mk6.5 has been in the family since new in 2006 and we haven't had a problem with it at all. 7 years worth of trouble free motoring! Great little engine!
Jake90087
As far as a MK6 goes, you're right to get a facelift as they have better front and rear light clusters, a better interior but not much difference apart from that. Ford Sigma engines take mileage well as long as they are serviced regularly. I would say make sure to buy a model with a new cambelt if it has done 70k plus. Since there are so many out there you can afford to be picky. But I would say service history is key to trouble free motoring and no nasty surprises.
