DAMIAN666
Hi all. If possable could i pick your brains for a while. I have an N reg Fiesta with an XR2i CVH engine in it at the moment BUT a friend of mine has asked me if i would like to buy his 2ltr Si Zetec silver top off of him as it will go into the Mk3 no problem. He also said to keep the gear box and fly wheel from the CVH as this will conect right upto the Zetec (IS THAT RIGHT ENOUGH?) Also he said that i would NOT need to do a break conversion but simply replace disks and pads for performance ones. And what about the wireing e.g the loom and ecu? Is there anyone on the forum that has done this conversion or could someone give me some sites that i can look at about Zetec conversions i would be very greatfull for your help folks much apprecated
hotashel
Hi, Is it 1600 xr2i, if so you I think you will also need to change the shocks due to the difference in engine weight. As for the wiring loom it depends whats already there. Am right in thinking this steve? H
hotashel
Hi, On further discussion wiv my other half, we had an xr2i and enquired wiv a ford conversions company if we could put a 2 lite zetec in it and were told that the starter motor was on the oposite side and there were a load of other things. So it probably could be done wiv a lot of cash but I dont think its as straight swop as your mate suggests. If it had been that easy to do then our 2ee would of had the engine and it wouldnt of been sold for somethimg faster!! If Steve cant help you could try a ford specialist but I wouldnt buy the engine before you have properly checked this out. H
