david295
The standard bulbs in my 2011 mk7 are not that good, any recommendations please for better ones. I don't want to go for hid's, as it will no doubt fail mot, also i don't like it when other idiots are blinding me with there's so, I wont do it to others. D13 HPD 95
I have Phillips diamond 5000K bulbs dip and sides with night vision full beam, silver tec indicators and work a treat never been flashed with them and the brightest bulbs ive ever had apart from hids altho not strictly legal i passed an mot on them, as for rears i have all led conversion brakes and reverse lights with silver tec indicators
DanGersFord
I've got the diamond vision bulbs aswel and believe it or not they're actually duller due to them having a thicker blue coating on the bulb to give them the nice icy white colour that they give. Mine are fitted to aftermarket angel eye projector headlights which weren't great before to be honest. The bulbs look great in OEM headlights though
Willy
I'm using OSRAM Night Breaker Plus H7 bulbs and they are good. Just ordered some OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER UNLIMITED H7 Headlight bulbs which are a bit brighter. The night breakers are good bulbs at £18 for 2. http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/osram-night-breaker-nightbreaker-plus-h7-two-bulbs
Stoney871
Nightbreaker plus are great for motorway driving as they really pick out signs and catseyes. Cool blue intense are also very good while staying street legal. I run nightbrraker plus for dipped around town and cool blues for high beam/motorway and find them a good mix. Lenny
Osram Night Breaker are 100% road legal, If wishing you had HID then osram cool blue are the legal option to go for there, I've got ashram night breaker plus in both high and low beam settings, I rarely use high beam though because the night breakers are that good on low beam. As always when changing bulbs, For maximum output where you need it on the road, Get your headlight alignment checked and corrected.
david295
Thanks for all comments Am going to go for OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER UNLIMITED, I normally get my parts from Euro Car Parts, but they have none in stock, so will order them, as I do not want to go to Halfrauds.
jamesm182
Nightbreakers are good or try Ring Xenon Ultima both 100% road legal :)
BrownMotoring
Big thumbs up for Nightbreaker Plus's, got them now and they're very great. Used to run Ring Ultima 120%'s and they brilliantly bright but they only lasted a year.
sp7_91
Night breakers plus looks good.... Are they white or do they have a blue tint?

btmaldon
These are the cheapest Osram Nightbreaker plus's I have seen: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Osram-Night-Breaker-64210NBP-Headlight/dp/B0047N0B0U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382389183&sr=8-1&keywords=Osram+Nightbreaker
BrownMotoring
Generally, the whiter colour temps look great but they're a bit less effective as bulbs. Better than stock but not optimised for light. The Nightbreaker's are just very well engineered quality all round bulb. I'd love HID's personally but know I haven't got the time to be explaining myself to the Police these days. Look elsewhere if your after a purer white, Cool Blue Intense or Hyper maybe but I've not tried either.

sp7_91
As above. If you want more light output then stay away from the bluer bulbs. So if you want more light output would night breaker plus be the best or a different one?
BrownMotoring
Try Nightbreaker Plus and Ultimate, Philips Vision bulbs like the X-treme Vision, Ring Xenon Ultima etc. Those are all very good and give a lot of extra and better focussed light. A good easy upgrade. To a lesser or greater extent a lot of bulbs have a blue coating. I've tried lots of varieties and decided in the end I'd rather see where I was going, but a nice clean white did look good with the DRL's :-) You'll still find the better engineered bulbs may have a blue coating, just much lighter or in bands to purify the light to the optimum and avoid glare. It's just a choice depending on what your after, safer driving, a better look or somewhere in between...but that somewhere in between will always look a little yellow'y. It's either, or. sp7_91
No they're yellow This might be a silly question but when you say yellow do you mean the colour is the same as the standard colour or is it more yellow than the standard bulb? DanGersFord
They're a little bit less yellow than standard mate
Stoney871
General rule of thumb is the darker blue the bulb looks the whiter the light will be. Sent using Ford OC mobile app

Moz1985
I was wondering the same thing, what sidelights suit night breakers then? Im looking at Osram LEDS but would they match? http://www.powerbulbs.com/store/category/car-bulbs/fitting/w5w-501 Thanks Moz

Lenny
Anybody know best matching sidelights for Nightbreakers? Thanks Sent from my GT-I9505 using Ford OC mobile appHi,If your looking for a white light to imitate HID then I recommend Osram cool blue intense, There a white light but not as bright as night breakers because the cool blue have a coating to make them white, There's a few members on here with osram cool blue and Philips blue vision, They should provide you with images. From what I've read, Either osram or Philips are an enhancement over standard.
