Hello everyone I am just new here and would appreciate a little advice please, I have a 2003 ford focus 1.8tdci, I have bought a cotton air filter which requires that the old air box is removed however when i have taken the lid from the original factory airbox there is a small what looks like to be a vacuum pipe, the question is what do i now do with this pipe leave it free standing or plug it up ? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trevor..

If its the right filter them there should be a hole in the filter neck to add this its a crankcase breather pipe and is part of the emission system
