clunking noise

hello just wondering if any one can help me i have a ford fiesta mk5 on a 51 reg iam some problem when i turn right iam hearing something like a grinding noise now ive jacked up my car had a little turn of the wheel on the drivers side and i can hear something like metal going around samething again jacked up the other side little turn of the wheel no noise could any one know what this is has iam worried because my MOT is due this wendnesday please help thanks

Sounds like the hub bearing is on its way out, if it is then the noise will get worse and worse untill its really loud, drive it to a garage while you still can and find out for sure. If it is the bearing, consider getting both done at the same time. Also more or less all garages do bearings, so shop around for quotes...

ok mate cheers thank you so its worth getting the both done because i was going to get just the side that was makeing all the noise so i maze well get them both done cheers thanks for your help

It could be the brake pad making light contact with the disk in which case the brake piston may be sticking slightly on that side. A wheel bearing starting to fail normally makes a rumbling type of sound and does it even when driving in a straight line.

Hopefully you don't just steam into a garage and ask them to replace both bearings without asking them to check they have in fact failed or you'll end up paying money for something that may not need 'fixed' then have to spend more cash getting the 'actual' problem sorted! good luck!
