Weak Windscreen Washer Pressure

Ive recently purchased a C Max 1.8 tdci, and even though i live in Manchester where it rains most days, I do sometimes require the windscreen washer, I have found that even though i can hear the pump working there is very little water coming out in fact its so weak it barely reaches the windscreen, i cleaned the nozzles and pipes leading to the nozzles, this made no difference. can anyone suggest any remedies other than replacing the pump(which seems to be working fine) ?

I had a similar fault on my focus but on the rear window so took the fitting apart to check the pipe was connected which was ok but found that the pipe was kinked when the boot was closed so replaced the pipe and then worked fine.

It can be as simple as a clogged pipe. Start off by dropping a hose pipe to the bottom of your washer bottle, then just push it as far down as you can with the water coming out on a strong flow, if there is anything blocking here, it should be shook loose.

if this doesn't work, then it could be that the water pump isn't working correctly.

Did you buy from a dealer? or private sale?

If you want to get a hose into the bottle you will have to probably take the filler neck off.

Two scrivets on the top of the panel and lift off then the filler is held on with one screw and a grommet between the filler and tank.
