Hi. My names stef, Have had a few ford cars, 1.4sport, xr2 and xr2i. Just driving a galaxy now though.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I can get a 1987 ford fiesta 1.4sport valued, or if anyone can give me an idea of how much to advertise it for. It's got 17,000 genuine miles on the clock and one lady owner from new. Unfortunately it's a non runner as it's been sat in a garage for 12 years, I've not tried to start it as I do not want to damage anything. The body work is in mint condition, no rust and the inside interior is immaculate. It has the original white wheel trims, in fact everything is original. Would make a good project for someone who has time, or if someone just needed it to use the Shell they would not be disappointed. So if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be really grateful.

its always hard to value an old car with really low mileage and not been used for so many years.

in theory, at that mileage its nigh on just off the production line, but the reality is, years of storage creates its own problems unless the car was prepared for storage beforehand...have dealt with a few cars after similar history as yours.

problems such as, clutches and brakes need replacing after a few hundred miles of being put back on the road, engine oil burning problems, wheel bearings and so on...often adds up to having to spend a few quid which is fine if you paid a reasonable price but costly if youve paid top dollar.

if it was me, i would do a bit of research for similar models, ideally on sites/magazines that deal with classic fords and form a value that way...its one of those cars that is worth what people are prepared to pay.and classic car values go up and down more than an up and downy thing :)

timing of sale can make a massive difference

Welcome to the family Stef.

I think Tony summed it up really well, unfortunately its not the easiest of things to help with but you would need to look around for the right place and the right time!

Thanks for all the replies. Someone I know has offered me £1050 for it. Think that's a fair price considering the work that will need doing to get it running.
