Squeaking Alternator Belt

Hi,

Now it getting darker and wetter I've had to start using lights/wipers/heated screen etc and I've noticed that when I have any combination of these on the alternator belt starts to make a squeaking noise. Well I assume it's that I haven't actually checked, but I can't think of anything else and when I turn something of it stops immediately.

With me needing to use electrical items more as it gets more wintery and the planned subwoofer installation :) I want to sort it out - more from the point of view that it's an annoying noise.

Is it just a case of tightening the belt?

Well I've fitted the new one this morning, I noticed when I took the old one off the rubber was all cracked and hard.

Anyway the new one seems to have cured it, no screeching with all the electrics on :)
