Well yet more updates:

I have a second boot light on the way, ready for the dual boot light installation.

Currently the highest bidder on an auction for some suspension turret carpets for the boot, this is something that I've wanted to do for about a year but I've never seen any for sale, I hope I get them :)

I must have some damp issues/water ingress somewhere, everyday when I come to the car in the afternoon the windscreen is dripping with water. Strange thing is I've had a big dehumidifier from the house in the car over night last week and it collected nothing - wasn't particularly cold that night either so I don't know why.

I'll have to do that to my car, poor escort hasn't got a boot light so can't see jack in there.

Escort (mk4) maybe others as well, use the same boot light as the mk3 fiesta.
I had to splice into the wiring for the light that was already there and run it across the boot, apart from that you wouldn't know it wasn't there from new  :)
Your escort doesn't even have one boot light?

No it doesn't, but it has a rear demister (which doesn't work) lol. I'll have to fix it because I think it is the aerial for the radio too...

Got the side repeaters installed today.

They were orange, I forgot to take a picture before I did it.

I'm pleased with them, just need to wash the car now.

Well I'm sure there will be as many people that don't like this as those that do.

I wanted the exhaust to look a bit less pathetic, really wanted a new stainless backbox but the stupid insurers refused to insure me. Anyway I did this...

3 inch diameter, obviously it's fake but it's better than nothing.

Needed to cut 1 1/2 inches off the end of the end of the tailpipe first.

I think it looks quite good

A chrome tip I say is perfectly fine (looks nice too) as the exhaust is a consumable like tyres so no permanent effect. As long as its not a cherry bomb back box like they all like to whack on lol.

The gunk on the oil cap may be condensation, perhaps change the oil and see what that does.

Well the oil has only done 2000 miles, but it has been in the car since August 2012. I'm going to change it in the summer so I'll see what happens then.

I had this with my Mk3, couldn't get rid of it! It's just the way that it seems to be. Was never after a long journey, only short ones.

Its just from the short cycle of a short journey the water goes up as the oil warms and it never gets warm enough to evaporate, go on a longish journey every week or other week and it will stop, in the summer it won't happen anyway, look through the filler cap if the tops of the cams have the milky !Removed! and it's completely brown then you have a problem otherwise just keep on trucking.

After a week and half since I won the auction on the interior boot carpet it finally arrived.

This is quite a difficult item to find so I ended up paying £20.51 delivered for it. They were only installed in higher spec models ghia, XR2i, RST

Also bought this to sort out the misting up issue, not misted up in 2 weeks with it in and we've had some really wet weather.

Reached 32,000 on Friday as well :(

Something I have wanted to do for ages... new dipped/main and sidelight bulbs.

As I don't really do much night driving and what I do is in town i.e. lots of street lights, I didn't think it was worth spending money of Osram Nightbreakers or anything.
So I got some cheapish xenon look h4 bulbs off eBay, very pleased with them, very white light and I'd say they are a bit better than the original bulbs.
Heres the link (but I guess most of you are on h7's or something) http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1497.l2649

Got 5 smd sidelightbulds which are also impressive, apparently canbus error free but obviously I can't comment on that :P

These are the ones - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310383487082?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Gone up in price slightly since I bought them.

Right, this will be the last update on the mk3 for the foreseeable future. Likely to be pretty much off the road for the next few years anyway.

Finally got round to doing the mudflaps, now I know a lot don't like mudflaps, but I wanted them for their practical use as much as their, IMO, cosmetic enhancement. Hence why I got extra wide ones for an XR2i :P In one of the pictures you can see that I have also moved the tailpipe even further into the bumper, looks nice and discrete, but noticable at the same time.

Couple of months ago I got a set (5) of XR2i/ghia alloy wheels, these were an option on my LX (that wasn't ticked) so I don't mind putting them on. Unfortunately, due to other commitments (another fiesta) these will have to wait to be refurbed, but I've got them now and they will only go up in value :D

Also the Pioneer stereo has gone and has been replaced by an original for one, which actually sounds better, and it's a tape player, just shows that some of this modern stuff is hopeless. Especially when the Ford stereo is hooked up to my Rockford amp :P

So this is the end for now, over the past two years I have worked very hard to bring the car back to pretty much showroom condition (not that it really needed it) and with a few subtle modifications. And by garaging it now I hope I can keep it in such good condition. Looking forward to taking it to a few shows in a few years (just need a car trailer to take it there to preserve the mileage :D

It's home for the foreseeable future, with a cover over it as well - of course.
