philr62
HI all Just wondering if anyone could give me an idea to fix my wheelarch issue? The problem is if i hit a deepish puddle my car likes to pop the bottom liner clip out which has already lost me one of the skirt endcaps on my zs. I replaced the endcap a while ago with the addition of a self tapper which just about held it on this time. The dealer gave me a couple of different clips but i don't think these will hold it either tbh. I try to miss all the puddles i can but the recent weather and dark roads at 5am its not always possible. Any suggestions as to what to do are welcome Cheers Phil
mixmasterlooney
It sounds like your wheel arch liner isn't fitted correctly. I have taken mine out and I know from experience it's very fiddly. At the top end and back of the arch there are notches, the arch liner slots into, remove it and make sure it's in correctly. You will need to remove your undertray too and make sure that too is also fitted correctly as the wheel arch liner screws into some of the same holes as the undertray, at the back one or two holes on the liner is for mud guards. Take it all out and start by fitting back the undertray first then the wheel arch liner. If one side is not in correctly it may force the other side out of proportion causing misaligned of the holes. Get replacement fixings if you are missing some. It's a trend for mechanics to not refit undertrays or when they do they leave out some of the screws, it drives me nuts Sent from my GT-I9300 using Ford OC mobile app
philr62
Thanks for the advice looks like i need to look further into it rather than just putting new fasteners in. Thinking about it the problem side looks to be sagging a bit compared to the other which is ok. Cheers
