tonydb
Morning all hope you had a good xmas!! Im going to be checking my coolant levels today and im pretty sure it will need some antifreeze. My question is can I put any anti freeze in it,i mean there should still be some left in the tank but probably not a lot, so is mixing antifreeze a good thing? I don't really want to carry out a complete flush of the system (not yet anyways)As im doing the brakes and oil today as well as a few other things.I will change the water/freeze mix if I really have to ,but id prefer to just top it up today? ~Any help as always is very much appreciated !! Have a happy new year !!
mjt
If you just want to top up with mixture or add neat to correct the specific gravity you need to use the same type as already in the system. Your user manual should tell you what type is specified for your engine. If you can't be sure that the correct type has been used in the past the only option would be to drain and flush then refill.
