Best Headlight Bulbs (With A Blue Tint)

23 posts in this topic

I have 59 plate facelift Focus Zetec (Mk 2.5)

My passenger side headlight bulb has blown a few days ago and just wanted to know the best replacements to get that have a blue tint like xenon blubs.

I read on here that the 'best' ones to get are the 'osram cool blue intenses'

Which ones do I need? H1, H4 or H7? I do like the blue tint but I just don't know which ones I need to get.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Here you go mate, bear in mind they are not technically street legal being 5000k, but as long as your headlights are aligned properly so you don't dazzle people, it would take an incredibly bored copper to pull you over for them. There are pictures in my build thread of them fitted.

Cheers mate. I like your blue interior, I was going to do the same thing with mine but I checked to see if I had the footwell wiring but it looks like I don't have any :/

I might go for the Phillips bulbs, if not, will these fit? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OSRAM-Cool-Blue-Intense-H7-Headlight-Bulbs-Twin-/231096033358?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35ce65a04e

No definitely H11 for the facelift focus 2008-2011

H8 look much the same as H11 but they don't plug in to the opposites loom,

Halfords sold me H11 instead of H8 on my old 2006 Nissan Almera N16

+1

Manual says to remove the fog light housing and remove the fog light,

But you don't need to do this; much easier to remove the headlight unit and reach down inside

I received mine within about 2 days. Be careful though, as mine were left on my doorstep all day. They didn't even attempt to knock on my door or ring the bell.

Thanks,

I'm in Ireland so takes 5 working days for me to receive standard mail from the uk,

Our postman always rings the bell,

He'll probably put them through my head  he cycles a bike to deliver post and we live up a hill,

I'm always buying on eBay meaning he has to cycle it up the hill,

He hates me

Still though the missus give him a Christmas card and he give her a hug so can't be that bad lol

I note he hugged her and not you.

Is your post the only reason he cycles up a hill to yours?;)

That's where the problem comes from.

Halfords bulb charts are innacurate.

No he supply post to 40 odd houses around me but any time he's delivering packages he says "did I not give you a parcel yesterday"

I'm not in to hugs

Sorry it's not the best picture but it's all I had time to do. I think I might take some proper ones with a DSLR tonight...

Looking good mate,

Get yourself some 6000k T10 led bulbs to match,

Set it off really nice.

Looks nice mate, as Lenny said get some sidelight bulbs and I'd say maybe the fogs to get the all round white look.
