Has anyone had a problem with their fuel pump rattling and getting 25/30 mpg when being careful? Or is mine really fudged after only 2000 "careful" miles

Yet if I hold it very tight it stops rattling or at certain rpm :/

Isn't the fuel pump in the fuel tank? Have you had the back seat out?

I haven't heard any noises from the rear of the car so far in my ST *knocks wood* Hope you get it sorted though.

Nope back right of the engine it's one of those mechanical ones that works on the cam :/ the spring goes up and down on the cam and it's like a diaphragm. This is what it looks like it's on the top of your engine right hand side towards the back post-48799-138925284166_thumb.jpg

Oh right, didn't realise. If it is clearly rattling just show it to the dealer. If you're only getting 25/30mpg in a 1.0 then clearly something is wrong.

My ST is giving me at least 33 mpg on the commute and it may be sick too....

Took it back, appointment for diagnostics is in 10 days, then parts take 10 days, then when parts are in I have to book it in again which is about a week wait! I work at fords and they can't even sort it out faster, anyone know a good dealership in Essex? And don't say rates
