martoon1611
Hi guys. I have a 2001 mondeo 1.8 and the alarm is going off all the time which is keeping the neighbours happy :) I've read a.few posts about the bonnet latch being faulty but also the door open light on the dash is on to say a door is open. Any one had this before?
Stoney871
As the car doesn't notify for an open bonnet I'd say door or boot switch. Spray each switch in turn and work them in and out to free them up.
martoon1611
No problems I will need to have a good look tomorrow really. Is there a way of putting the alarm into a self test mode To test each switch?
Stoney871
On the Focus you can press and hold the rear demister button while starting the car. This activates a mode whereby every switch and relay on the car sounds a tone when activated. Whether this works on a Mondeo though I can't confirm. Stoney871
Another suggested test mode activation is to open the bonnet and press/release the bonnet alarm switch repeatedly until a chirp sounds then open and close each door/boot, a working switch should sound another chirp. Again unconfirmed but worth a shot.
