L666JER
Does anyone know if the wiring would be in place on a 1995 Mk3.5 fiesta lx for the electronic boot release? If it is in place I will fit one because i'm fed up with having to turn the car off every time I want to open the boot. Thanks, James

Jake90087
Your best bet would be to have a probe in the boot area and the wiring that runs above the headliner. But to let you know at least on the mk4 and 5 the engine needs to be stopped before the boot release will work anyway. I would imagine it is the same on the mk3. I know it's not the case on the mk6 also.

But if I see one cheap on eBay I might as well go for it. Might have a look for the wiring at the weekend.
Jake90087
I agree. For me it is when somebody wants something out of the boot quickly so I have to stop the engine, press the button and then start it again. But it is a good extra to have, even it it's not super convenient! Also to add since I had the trim off of my boot yesterday it looks as if the switch will pull a servo or similar actuator that pulls the cable to release the boot lock, like turning the key pulls the cable also. So it would be good to pull the trim off and check in there to see if the car has the kit for it.
L666JER
As long as the wiring is there it'll be an easy job i think - just fit mechanism and switch. If it isn't I don't fancy trying to run it under the headlining.
Stoney871
The locked boot while ignition on is a safety measure to stop someone opening your boot while at lights/parked etc.
