Urgent Advice Needed. Possibly Been Scammed Re: Dpf Delete

glad you got it sorted. I would genuinely feedback to the guy that he should consider how he handles things in future.

You were calm and collected, both by choice, but moreso likely by the presence of your little one. (Please dont think I am suggesting you are a nutter! :p) but seriously, would you have been as calm and collected if your little one was there?

I think he would probably do well to know that he needs to improve his customer service skills to ensure that next time, he doesnt come across an angry customer with a shorter fuse and massive muscles to compensate!

Hi jeebo.

Funny you should say its sorted....on the way home from work, the dreaded DPF light came on!

It is the same code that kept on coming up before I had the work done on the car "P2002 Particulate Trap Efficiency Below Threshold".

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you are deleting any trace of DPF coding in your ecu, anything even remotely related to the DPF no longer exists so this code should not have come up??

I have rang him and he convinced me that it is just a sensor issue and it can be coded out but I am starting to seriously question this guy's capabilities.

Tomorrow will be the second time I have had to go to his house and its a bit of a joke to be honest.

I have added up all the time he has had my car and its already at 11+ hours in total.

Going back to what you said. I am a very calm person with a long fuse so I absorb things then make a judgement later.

I can blow my top but you would have to REALLY upset me to get me to that stage.

My brother on the other hand.......total opposite LOL.

I am going to give him this one last chance I think.

What would you do pal?

Just to add to this...

I have done the dashboard trick and there is a section you click to which shows your DPF "active" and "passive" cycle.

My "active" cycle is showing a reading which means it is regenerating. How can this be??

Is the info on the dashboard trick reliable or is it just what the ecu "thinks" it should be doing?

Anyone on here who had the DPF delete done care to check what their "active" cycle shows please.

As farcas I am concerned it should read zero fuel being added!

Michael,

name and shame the guy on here so that others are warned.

when i was on seatcupra.net you could not say anything bad/negative towards any of the sponsors on there as your post would get deleted or your account would get deleted. its just how the admin team worked so you never got proper feedback on any of the sponsors on there.

hope you get it all sorted mate.

Im considering doing that but the thing is, the guy has been very attentive and seems to be very thorough.

Its been a nightmare from the start though and ive gotta go back to his house AGAIN tonight for him to delete a DPF sensor (which, again doesnt make sense).

I personally think that he has zero experience with Ford and I get the impression that I was a guinea pig to see if he could do it.

He specialises in Audi and VW you see.

Im just very pee'd off with it now and am doubting everything he's done.

A ceramic dpf is just the same as a cat,

It doesn't have any sensors at all in the exhaust equipet with a ceramic dpf,

They don't have eloys fluid or injectors,

They are not capable of self regeneration,

The only thing they have is passive regeneration meaning the waste gases passing through heat the ceramic,

It has no thermostat to know how hot it is neither,

You can remove a ceramic dpf and the engine won know its gone mate,

There's nothing connected to the computer.

I've had my ceramic dpf done,

If you tell m the trick I'll check mine for you too.

One question on your behalf though;

Who's paying for the diesel on all the trips to his place,

I feel for you mate and realise now how lucky I have been as I traveled 127 miles from home to get mine done and no problem, I hope you get yours sorted this time.

Hi Lenny.

Thanks for the detailed description mate. Very interesting!

Ok so you do the dashboard trick (hold the reset button whilst turning to position 2) then click the button until you see what is in the picture.

This, I am told is the condition of the DPF active regen. The higher the figure the more fuel is being added.

The next pic is the passivr regen.

Have I got it right that it is trying to regen or am I way off??
