Focus Diesel Non-Starter Help Please

Hi All

so my problem is I have changed the fuel filter on my Focus Estate 2007 1.8 TDCI and attempted to bleed the system via the Fuel filter after filling the fuel filter up with diesel first and there is no fuel coming through.

I have tried bleeding it with the ignition on.

I have tried easy start and the engine turns over but still doesn't start once I stop the easy start.

I have placed a pipe in between the fuel filter and the inlet fuel line and no sign of fuel.

the tank is half full

Any suggestions greatly welcome please

Thanks

Bob

BLEED THE AIR LOCKS OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM....

How do you go about doing that, thought that's what I was doing by bleeding the from the top on the filter

start from scratch, remove the pipes from the filter, refill the filter with diesel through the inlet till you get no more in..reconnect the pipes, quick squirt of easy start to help. if engine dies then try just short bursts of the stater motor rather than long continous crank...above has never failed for me

Thanks, I've done all that apart from starting with short bursts, il give that a try in the morning

Is there a pump on the fuel tank? as I'm starting to think it's not pumping the fuel through to the filter

get a hand pump (most good spares shops will have one) and fit between supply line and filter, with all pipes connected, open the bleed screw on the filter and pump till you have removed the air from the filter...quick squirt of easy start to help and that should do it.
