mixmasterlooney
That's true but you can clearly see his hand go back onto the handle bar and after the engine reving you can see him pass. RAIDER32
I've been looking at one of these cameras for a while, and it might have come in very handy today, I narrowly missed knocking down a teenage girl on a bike, Slowing down and about to turn left on a terraced street, this girl comes flying out on wrong side of road straight across the front of my car, if I had been going straight on I have no doubt I would have hit her, I gave her a few words out the window as she went past. jeebowhite
Definatey worth raising the point Kurt, they might be able to follow through on it, but I would say the evidence is more circumstantial and not definite, so they may be able to do very little, even if they have a word, its good to know that he has hit their radar at some point! As for you Ian, that is bad! if you had hit her, then you would have had one heck of a fight proving that it was not your fault! at least with a cam you would have had the extra supporting evidence

jeebowhite
haha, somehow I think the only word that was actually used out of that statement was the word "You" I suspect that the other words began with three letters such as F S and B! b1g_dav3
I'm going to order one with a ribbon cable extension, going to mount the camera lens to the top/bottom of the rear view, and then the unit to the sensor area of the rear view mirror with velcro tape, that was it's completely invisible at more than 6 inches :P
sonic113
Fellas how is things with the moboius still going? As I said in my mother post I got mine the other day. Just want to know is the PDF guide still up to date? I want to hardwire mine into the car as a fit and forget. Has anybody any hints or tips on doing this and can I be linked to the cable form the instalation? Thanks
mixmasterlooney
Sonic the guide is done by me and James. Yes it is upto date it's done with my mobius in my Mk2.5 ZS so you aren't gonna get any more accurate of a guide than that I will try and post up the cables and bits needed later. I will also sort you out a link for a reliable 32gb sd card used by Ben in his mobius Sent from my GT-N7105 using Ford OC mobile app
sonic113
Kurt Excellent. I wanna get all cables ordered so I can get on with installation. Great wee cam , upon testing it does get hot but then again it cools down fast as well. But like you guys said nothing to worry about. I will be keeping the battery in it and maybe change to a capacitor way down the line unless you guys recommend differently? Quality is first class for all the size of it. It goes to show that dash cams actually don't need a screen lol!
b1g_dav3
Are people getting the normal lens or the wide angled lenses for these? Managed to pick up a Mobius minus a lens for £14 :P
sonic113
I got the normal lens (lens A). Its more than enough for the job in my opinion. If position in centre of window it got a great viewing angle. I think Kurt had the standard lens as well but not 100% sure.
mixmasterlooney
I do indeed have the standard lens (lens A) it's more than enough I won't be getting the other one. I'm about to order my second mobius for the rear, searching up on accessories to see if i can find anything cool Sent from my GT-N7105 using Ford OC mobile app
catch
Well Kurt having read your hard wire guide, I've just ordered the Mobius and the bits and bobs needed including a Kingston 32GB micro SD card, came to just short of £59. I had a mini fuse bridge and 3 amp fuse in stock from when I converted my foglamps to DRL's. And I may install a rear facing one at a later date. I've been meaning to do a guide in regard to converting the Fogs to DRL's, cost litle money less than £25 if I remembere rightly. Also a guide to installing an additional 12 volt socket, just to the right of the "coin cubby hole" for the use of my Satnav
Turvey
Going to get me one of these shortly, especially after an incident on Friday. Approaching a slight right hand bend and could see a cyclist coming the other way with a car behind him. The car driver only started to overtake him didn't he? I saw that it was going to be a close thing so foot off throttle and covered brake, applied brake when I figured out he wasn't going to get in front of cyclist safely. He 'just' managed to get in without causing a collision! How he didn't see me coming I don't know. I was driving a 2.5 metre tall BRIGHT ORANGE Renault truck at the time!!! A quick blast on the airhorns made sure he knew I was there :) So a quick question about the Mobius, I have read all/most of the 18 pages so might have missed it, but is there a button to press to save a segment of recording?

WAZ91
Do you leave your dash cams on permenantly? My folks bought me a Next Base Halfords Dash cam which is really good i'm just not sure if it would drain too much power if left on when not using the car? At the moment i have it on motion sensor so when ever i pull away it starts recording.

If you're stopped in traffic or something and you get rear ended or someone rolls back onto you... With the ignition live guide I made you can always keep the camera running with engine on by leaving the ignition on. There is an option for a 10 seconds delay before shut down after power loss, this will allow you to switch off your engine and switch ignition back on without disturbing your camera power flow. I know, the only way that i have read to ensure its on always is to press the record button at the start and end of my journeys, but knowing my luck i will forget to turn it off one night and the battery will die :P
