sonic113
All signs of incompatible memory card, this is on the mobius forum, buzzing/strange audio sounds and stuttering. What memory card are you using and class? It's impossible to show the mobius true video quality on YouTube and it's hard for people to understand after you've explain how great it is then seeing a YouTube video lol I agree Kurt. the mobius is brilliant video quality and has to bee watched in real life to see it. You tube video compression does noting for it really.
Phil 87
Here's a daytime video, well early morning at least. Not much bad driving except an Audi cuts me up just after 3 mins. Feel free to criticize my driving though :P The mobius can lock files using one of the buttons while recording. I think the newer firmware automatically locks the previous file if you are close to the beggining of a new file, or the next one if you are close to the end which sounds like a good idea. I haven't tried this as I haven't updated my firmware but with 4 hours recording time I think I would have time to copy the files I need before they get overwritten anyway. Thanks for the correction :) The stuttery frame in dark scenes is fixed in the most recent firmware (thankfully!). I don't have mine recording audio because who wants to listen to my music (and me occasionally having a conversation with myself?) That's great, thanks for letting me know. I'll get the firmware updated and try it in the dark again. And the audio could be useful if someone crashes into you (you might hear tyres squeeling off screen etc). The average USB lead uses 4 connections where a power usage only uses 2 of the 4. This is how the camera knows the difference between 12v and pc I just found out there are cables that can solve this problem such as this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/PortaPow-Charging-Micro-USB-Cable/dp/B0088HTYUE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412358541&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+cable+power+only Basically it only connects the power, so whatever the Mobius is connected to it will record. It's just a problem if you want to use the same cable to get videos off it. I still need to try that hidden USB port on the Sync module, so we'll see if it activates the auto record. Edit: I especially like this part of the description: "Will not put your device into 'data transfer' mode when connected to a computer, acting as a 'USB Condom' to prevent data theft / viruses when charging from an unknown USB socket" lol.
mixmasterlooney
Phil the St sounds amazing, me wants. I tried using the usb in my car aswell to power the mobius and it does cause problem because the car can trigger data mode, it also does this to my stand alone tom tom where every 5 mins my tom tom prompts asking if I would like to connect to a pc. Bettz hopefully a different fuse does the trick for you
Phil 87
Phil the St sounds amazing, me wants. Yeah the Mobius picks up the noise from the Symposer really well, it seems to have a decent microphone :). Overtaking that lorry just after the start of the vid, that was full throttle in 5th, just couldn't resist lol.

Phil 87
Had another go at night, the firmware did indeed fix the jumpy video thing :). But now I've noticed it struggles with unlit roads, anything that's not lit up just appears black. Maybe HDR and/or low light mode would help? I still have those electronic buzzing noises but they are so quiet that they're not really a problem. But now it's developed a vibration noise, sounds like something is resonating maybe in the camera or mount. I've tried tightening up the mount so will see if that helps. Edit: I wonder if the electronic buzzing sounds could be interference from the GPS sensor which the camera is quite close to, or something else in the car causing interference? Micro
There have been problems in the past with the Möbius causing GPS reception problems, potentially could be interference. The lens assembly isn't glued in, just held by friction, as is the battery so could be any number of things. Have HDR on on mine all the time - low light is too overexposed in the day. Yeah you could be right about both. I'd better check that my satnav still works with the Mobius recording. And maybe if it keeps vibrating I'll open it up and glue everything together lol. bettz
Have you changed the fuse yet? XNot yet I'll changed it later today fingers crossed if that doesn't work I'll order a 12v adapter and cable if that works I guess it's the cable I'm currently using?Changed the fuse to number 15 7.5 + 3amp piggyback and it's the same. The annoying thing is the camera will work great if I hold the power button it switches on & starts to record I can turn my car on & off countless times and it starts like it should do Just gave it 20 mins and it's still working when I turn it 2 clicks
Phil 87
Could it be your rock hard St? That's what I was thinking, it's probably the rock hard suspension that's punishing the cheap camera.
mixmasterlooney
Is your mount secure? Phil strangely enough focus mk2.5 suspension is harder than the St focus, it can almost be uncomfortable sometimes but does corner well
Phil 87
Is your mount secure? Phil strangely enough focus mk2.5 suspension is harder than the St focus, it can almost be uncomfortable sometimes but does corner well Yeah I made sure the adjustments on the mount were tight and it seems to be solidly attached to the windscreen. I might try taking the Mobius apart and see if anything is loose, because it wasn't getting that vibrating noise through the sound for the first day or two. catch
Also noticed the Date & time are wrong on the videos David when you say the above, is that after you have connected the Mobius to the >msetup< program, which would have corrected the time and date to your PC time? bettz
David when you say the above, is that after you have connected the Mobius to the >msetup< program, which would have corrected the time and date to your PC time? Yes Mobius runs fine when I've had it hooked up to the pc and then put it into the car its when it's been sat in the car for a few hours I get no response when turning on the ignition except a blue light flash then nothing I'm going to try running it off the 12v as I've managed to get an adapter if that works then maybe it's a problem with the left angled adapter somewhere. I can run the camera off its internal battery fine Also done a H2testw to check the ad card which also came out fine

Stoney871
I've got one of these coming within the next couple of days. bettz
Messed around with it a little today Same problem with the 12v cable The mobius flashes blue when starting the car then 3 red flashes from the recording led then nothing. However if I hold the power button for 5 secs to power it on the device will work fine. That solution worked using the 12v & via the wired connection until I leave the car for an hour or 2 then it's back to the problem of getting it to switch on without having to hold the power button I'm out of ideas I'll try and get a recording of what I mean baring that a new sd card? Re flash to a different firmware.?

I'd be interested to see what you think of it, if it works as well as the Mobius I might get one. I don't know why they put IR LEDs on it though, I've heard they just cause glare on the windscreen. Although I think on cars with the rain sensor that camera might be too close to it and have half the screen blocked by it.

Re flash to a different firmware.? Okay bettz I will dig up the firmware I'm using today and email it to you. It if works on battery that must be a power issue. You mention holding the power button fir couple seconds, does that mean fast turn on mode is off? It's worth having on. What about a different fuse have you tried that?
bettz
I'm sure fast power mode is on I'm using fuse space 15 now I switched them over yesterday. The camera can sometimes take a while to be picked up by my pc as well if that's any help I'll sometimes have to disconnect the USB a few times to get it to register.
