mk4 anti roll bar

hello, i was busy lowering my fiesta today (only 40mm) when i came to the point where the anti roll bar has to be loosened.

it came off fine but then when i put it back on it keeps slipping off. i think the nylon in the shoulder of the ball and socket joint might have worn to the point where it wont stay on.

for future reference was i right to remove the anti roll bar? (not completely just the bottom bit) as this was the only way i would see of getting the suspension arm out.

any ideas? and prices for repair would be great. dont fancy driving it with a loose roll bar.
