slartibartfast
Hi, Has anyone fitted mk2.5 door mirrors on a mk2? My mk2 Ghia already has indicators in the mirrors, so is there any chance it would be a "plug and play" swap? Phil.

gforce
I'm sure people have fitted facelift mirrors, but not 100% sure about wiring. The only issue I had heard before of people fitting facelift mirrors was wiring up the indicators as the plugs are different on cars without wing mirror indicators, but as you already have them I'd be thinking it's the same. I'd assume (and we all know we should never do that!) that it's all there if they perform all the same functions (heated, electric and indicators) but couldn't be certain as I've never done it. Has to be the same looms though surely, doesn't it?! Not sure if there are puddle light and powerfold options but they'd need extra wiring I'm sure if that's what you were going with. They're the same mounting plate so my bet is that, fingers crossed, you're good to go mate. Hopefully someone can confirm. If not, then best advice I could give would be to pop yours off, get a pic of the wiring plug, and get someone with a facelift to compare and confirm. Actually, I have a spare wing mirror in the shed, pre-facelift heated/electric/indicator, so I can take a pic of that this evening to save you removing yours if you like. As I say though, I reckon it's bound to be the same loom and hence plugs between the two.
