Rust On 3 Year Old Door Frame?!!

So I noticed a nice bubbly patch underneath my drivers side door frame today and checked in my warranty book and it states paint warranty for the fiesta is only 1year?! Not amused at all! Am

Going to ring ford tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath because being a woman they'll probably try to fob me off! And I'm not looking forward to putting my point across that this shouldn't happen on a three year old car with no damage let alone the fact they will try and get me to pay for it! :(

I assure you that won't be a factor.

I'm a bloke and all I got from them was bullcrap!

Lol thanks can't wait to have the argument with them that I did not spent 10K to expect rust to be appearing on my three year old car! I love the car but I have to say Ford have always had a bad reputation for customer service :(

My focus began rusting within 6 months of purchase,

In any case i reckon your better off paying a body shop to repair the area as they will do it properly as your paying for it to be done,

ford however

They will take the oppertunity to educate themselves on the art of spraying and repair, main occupation sales man but he will give it a go at spraying, purchasing a can of paint from ford etis for under 20 pounds and spraying it on his lunch break then in to vacuum monkey for a spit and polish.

Charge you 5 hours labour plus paint and tell you " our specialised paint repair department sorted that for you"

you will drive away out of severely out pocket but content in the beliefs that you have done right by going to ford with it as most would assume but no within 12 months the rust will reappear and you'll realise you were raped, you will at that point go back to ford to complain about being in for paint repair 12months ago, but that visit wont be on record with ford because the sales man done the job, pocketed your money and it never went through the books at ford at all, they will then offer to sell you a 2015 model with " anti chip film" you starting to see what im saying here:huh:

The body shop will do it correctly,

sanding away the rust down to the clean metal,

Prime the metal to prevent rust creep,

Then a sand smooth

Followed by colour coat

Finishing with a hard clear liquor

job done correctly not job disguised only to reappear in 12months time.

Ford just want to sell,

Don't be surprised if they sit you in a show model tomorrow and offer to add the additional "anti chip protection cover" on this model for an additional 400 pounds. ;)

All dealerships are the same shower of cash cowboys

Sorry if that seems negative but its sadly the truth I've been there saw it.

Had my 2005 Mondeo two weeks when I noticed the driver's side of the heated screen didn't work (bought in January 2012). Took it back for them to look at, and they said "yeah, the wiring's corroded, needs a new screen".

....yeah? So.... when can you do it?

We won't. You'll have to go through your insurance.

WTF?

I stood and argued about this - about the fact that because the screen was structurally fine, I could not go through the insurance. The bloke then has the audacity to tell me "yeah, but if it were to develop a crack...." - roughly translated; "chuck a brick through it".

After I pointed out two things; first it was insurance fraud they were asking me to commit. Second, I'd still have a £75 excess to pay. He THEN offered to pay the excess "out of his own pocket" - like I meant to be grateful! At this point I demanded a full refund of the £4,500 I'd paid cash for the car. All of a sudden they relented, and agreed to replace the screen at their own expense.

I won't name the dealer, but it rhymes with Devon's Falshaw.

You should name the dealer. You have no need to protect scum dealers I think its best ford members know what dealers to avoid fyi. After a clutch replacement at dees in croydon main ford dealer my bonnet wouldn't open and the scum tried to charge me £200 for a new lock. I argued with the manager over the phone because he was late who told me I'm a liar lol and that I came in with the bonnet lock broken. A bonnet that magically opened when they did the clutch and never again worked? Anyways the **** decided to fix it.

I was preped for ww3 that day because not only that they messed up my gearbox and forgot to tighten the gearbox mounting bolts left the car dropping out of gear at 70mph. Worthless manager spencer knobcheese @ ford dealer dees of croydon.

They deserved to be named and shame in my opinion.

He did name the dealer. You can't work out his play on words?

Heavens Hellshore, they took 3 attempts to put a tyre on the right way around. Continental tyres, even have "OUTSIDE" written the tyre walls.

End of bell shaped muppets.

Ford, nice cars shame about the stealers.

(Rotherham site are the tyre experts, Dewsbury service current car and apart from washing it with a filthy gritty sponge... are reasonably OK)

Well it transpires the door frame isn't the only place I have rust. So I'm having my windscreen replaced today buy a decent guy who points out that the screen has never been replaced before and it's the original ford screen. He discovers the top right corner with major rust appearing. I take pictures of it. I ring Ford who still haven't got back to me after the last issue I had with the rust (the number is 0330 something) they then transfer me to a premium rate 0800 number without me knowing keep me on hold and tell me they will chase the warranty guys. I feel like I should be ready and prepared for WW3.

The previous 'rust' problem they tried to tell me wasn't rust and that the 'door had dropped' causing the paint to flake off and it only had 12month paint warranty so warranty may not cover it. When I said 'we'll I'm not paying for it' it was sold to me like that. They should have fixed it before selling it to me like that! So they also spotted my bumper needed a respray caused by someone damaging the paintwork when they parked behind me and drove off. So they asked if ford were doing that. I said id been recommended a guy who used to work at ford to re spray it so was going to use him but not until spring just incase we get snow and it gets damaged again in the weather. The manager advised me that if the warranty guys don't accept to do it then they will do it through the guy recommended by ford and get him to lift and re spray the door too and not charge me extra for it. The manager said when was I hoping to get the bumper done and I said well not until at least April or May and he proceeded to tell me that it was not going to snow now and I might as well get it all done now! I was just like I'm sorry you are not a weather man nor do you know if I can afford to Shell out £150 for work that needs doing for things I haven't caused grrrrr

I would have used the land line had I know after calling an 0330 that I would finish up on an 0800 number :-/ they still haven't got back to me!

As above, 0300 and 0800 numbers are free from landlines. They're "sort of" free from most mobiles too, in that you get charged a nominal connection charge of something like 5p, but that's it.

0845 and 0870 numbers on the other hand, cost a fortune.

Here's a useful site:http://www.saynoto0870.com

I know the 0330 number is free from a mobile hence calling it from my mobile. As for 0800 numbers, I've had bills rocket due to calling these numbers on a mobile so don't like to do it. I just don't want my bill going up because I called on a 'free' number on my mobile only to find I finished up on a premium rate number. Had I known they did this I would have just phoned it on the landline. And since they still haven't bothered to get their finger out their asses I shall no doubt be needing to ring them again!

Can you not escalate these issues with Ford direct, this dealer is clearly trying to give you the run around...

A Word from the powers above may prompt him to sort this asap

Good luck with it horrible when you get issues like this and even worse when you get fobbed off

If you rang the 0330 number you shouldn't be charged, if they then transferred you internally it shouldn't matter where you ended up. You would only be charged if you hung up & redialled 0800.
