So my 2005 focus mk1 1.6 16v when its idling it sits at 800 revs not even 1000

with this if i have my headlights on it drops even lower

then if i put the heated windows on the lights dim and it almost cuts out.

i cant find the issue it has had a new battery and new altenator.

please any help would be greatly apreciated.

Simon

I had the mk1 1.8 that used to idle at about the same lights used to brighten wen reved a little. but never stalled though when I put lights or heated screen on the revs dropped but then climbed back up I never had an issue. I cannot think of any car which I have driven idled anywhere near 1000 rpm

the fact that the car almost stalls isnt normal though, it would suggest perhaps the alternator has issues putting out the right voltage, but you should be able to turn on almost every electrical appliance and the car should be able to run still.
