thinking of buying some of these phillips bulbs, but how easy is it to change the bulbs simple job?

Yep. Three steps per bulb.

1) Unscrew the obvious top mounted star/torx/flat screw.

2) Push down (with same screwdriver if you like) on the black plastic tab visible from the back of the light cluster, on the inside side. It will click.

3) Do the same with the other tab, which is hidden away more on the outer side of the cluster, at the back still, near what I think is the alignment thing.

It'll now be loose, apart from wiring, and its easy to swap all bulbs out from behind the rubber seals.

If you've come from a mk1 focus, you'll be amazed at how easy it is - I don't miss the faff with the mk1 AT ALL.
