Turvey
Anyone lucky enough to see them tonight? We all went out a quick run out of the town and were treated to quite a spectacular show. Not seen them for years. Tried to take a couple of pics but couldn't do them justice though :( A couple of my FB friends had better luck... https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1/1957988_10201556586185650_33651404_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/t1/1896960_805896082758492_1075734317_n.jpg

BigD
They could be seen as far south as Jersey, which is a pretty rare occurrence. I didn't see anything - the north side of my house is the only side with no windows in it and it was too cold/late to be going out by the time I found out about it. There's a great shot on the BBC website taken from New York near Coningsby, which is just up the road from me though: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26383389 (5th pic along, titled "Aurora Borealis in Lincolnshire", by Russell Churchill)
