AdamC11
Hi. Ive recently had a set of brake pads changed on my car. When im slowing down or driving slow and i brake, i get a grinding feeling through the brake pedal. Can anybody offer and advice? Thankyou
BigD
They probably just aren't bedded in properly yet. The pads can move very slightly in the caliper causing the vibration/grinding effect. It should go away fairly quickly, usually within 50 miles.
wase16ll
get them rechecked...front and rear. either something isnt sitting right or very poor quality brakes fitted
E5GDM
It's the pads 'bedding' in against the disc, but it shouldn't be to bad or last too long. If it's that bad take it back.
wase16ll
any bedding in noises/gratings should only occur if there is any corrosion on the disc, or maybe disc is lipped on the edge..otherwise you should have no noises/grating whatsoever
FOCA
If its old discs with new pads, might get better with wear, as the lips/ grooves wear into the pads, ideally, "modern" discs and pads should be replaced together, in the past discs could outlast several sets of pads
