How do I get the Aerial off my car roof ?

Can't find nothing in the manual. I'v tried to unscrew it and alsorts.

Alls it was, I wanted to wash the car at the Asda garage by mine and needed to take it off and couldn't so I sort of went and bat the eyelids and got 2 lads to help me and they couldn't even loosen it one bit.

Some one tell me, Zipu needs his bath :(

Well below is a picture of the base off a MK6 after a quick look, and as you can see, the aerial screws off. I would try a pair of pliers with a bit of cloth wrapped round the aerial so you don't damage it as it may just be stuck as it's probably never been off before.
