Tato
I noticed the lack of protection on the foot rest that I thought was not great, bit seems common on small cars. My other half's Corsa is just carpeted, as was the Clio pool car I had for a few weeks. The solid rest on my E46 was much better, especially in the winter when it could just be wiped down. Some of the issues sound a bit worrying. Hopefully my Zetec S will be Ok. The Edge that I have now seems ok; no rattles after 27k, gear box is sweet. Don't worry Sam, every car has pros and cons. Overall the Fiesta is a great little car! Of course there could be some things done differently but in my opinion they are not that big of a problem. The only thing that we have to hope for is not to have problems with engine, transmission and other "heavy" things... By the way guys, what king of bulbs I need for the front lights? H7? Cheers! Sam C
The Philips bulbs always seem popular and do well in reviews. I'm planning to get some of the Blue Vision bulbs when I get mine.

If you read any particular car make forum you would get the impression that that make or model was full of problems ! Ford engineering is pretty sound and I wouldn't worry about any problem - it could happen to any car.
RHP
i have had so many problems with my 09 1.4tdci titanium p.o.s. i bought the car as a demo , 11000km on the clock when i picked it up a year ago . its been back at the ford stealership 8 times ! and its going back again tomorrow . got in the car after work today to find over 4cm of water on the floor on the passenger side ! going to trade it in for something else . Ive just had a water leak problem, back passenger footwell filling with water everytime it rained but no visible signs of where it was coming from. I bought the car as an ex ford owed with 1800 miles on clock. Apparently this water leak was a known fault on the 58 plates, I have a Fiesta Style. The leak was due to insufficient sealant on the A post. Even though I took out an extended warranty, guess what, water leaks arent covered after the first 12 months. However, due to my very helpful service manager, customer relations have agreed to foot 75% of the bill and my dealer is going to cover the rest. This is about my sixth Ford and my fourth Fiesta but its really put me off.
Roasted
Rear window seal replacing. Indicator not clicking off... going to see about it at the courtesy check. Engine immobiliser light stayed on during a drive... appears to be a one off though *touch wood* Sometimes doesn't engage into reverse easily... not a daily problem though, unlike some folks have it. Overall no real complaints, as they're just 'teething troubles', I believe. Great car to drive, and I just love it to bits!!! What's this with them changing the radio?? to a different type? or what? now you've got me wondering, lol. Abbie
Roasted
My 2010 Fiesta Edge has a problem to do with engaging reverse gear. I sometimes have to pull forward in 1st before I can engage reverse without crashing the gears. Strange to say my older V reg Fiesta 1.25 had the same problem. How common is this problem? MartynS
Mine has done this a few times now, though not recently it must be said. It's to do with having no synchro on the reverse gear so is to be expected. You shouldn't need to use first though, just going back to neutral and lifting the clutch briefly will be enough - this has always worked for me. Every car I've owned has done this, it's because reverse gear doesn't have syncro mesh. Just press the clutch twice and it'll go straight in (also stated above). I sometimes have to pull forward in 1st before I can engage reverse without crashing the gears. Strange to say my older V reg Fiesta 1.25 had the same problem. How common is this problem? Very common. I've had it on many (manual) cars in the past of various makes and it's caused by what MartynS says. I shouldn't worry about it. My drive has a slight slope so I could always let the car roll momentarily to engage reverse! Also declutching in neutral again usually cures it. I haven't got the problem on my current Mk 7 Fiesta as it's an auto !
Sarah1985
I took delivery of my 61 plate Fiesta 1.6 TDCi Titanium 5dr last month and I've already booked it in for its first problem - the Speakers keep going quiet, not a major issue, but it's quite annoying when a good song comes on! :D It does it when the radio's on and also when I'm listening to my iPod too Apart from that, the only other "bad" things are: Metallic Black Paint - shows up every slight mark Suspension - bit hard, you feel every lump and bump Good points though: I get between 55 and 63 MPG Nice and roomy inside and a decent sized boot (I can easily fit a bale of hay in with the back seats down)
screamer
theres a squeek coming from the plastic surround on the seat belt/door pillar, right at my ear, !Removed! annoying, only knew how to take it off, i'd give everything a wee file & a spot of vaselene to stop the rubbing
FiestaOwner
Mine has an annoying rattle in the back somewhere, sounds like something is loose in the boot but it's completely empty. Also, there's a silly problem (feature?) with the auto : switch off the ignition while still in D, turn the key to position II, select P and remove the key - the stereo stays on. Michael Nicholls
Ford Fiesta Titanium in Black 2011 plate Delivered June 2011 I religiously log my fuel consumption Mainly short journeys min 3 miles max 10 miles, town miles To date I have clocked 4000 mile at an average of 62mpg Except for the driver seat need pumping up regularly My Fiesta is Puuuuuuuuuurfect :D

Chris 65
Since buying it new in June of this year, I haven't had a single fault. I've racked up about 6200 miles on the clock (US miles), and I'm due for my first service at 7,500. I love this little car, it's been a peach of a ride! Back-up gear is never sychromeshed, so I just throw it into first, then reverse. And I don't have to roll the car forward to do it, either. Works like a charm. PumpkinSteve
I've just noticed that my steering wheel isn't on straight I also have a rattle coming from the glass on my boot and the silver dial surround on my dash is loose and rattling...bumpy country roads take no prisoners. Magenta
The steering 'clunk' that I mentioned last February has returned on my Fiesta. It can be felt rather than heard when moving the steering at low speeds. The dealer fixed it last time by "lubricating the column" which sounds a bit hard to believe but at least they cured it. I'll take it in and ask them to have another look at the noisy brakes at the same time. No other problems but the car has only done 6000 miles in nearly two years.. Still very happy with the quiet smoothness and good drive.
Sam C
I have a 61 plate Zetec S with a few issues; the steering is out of alignment and there is a rattle from the boot even though there is nothing in it. I took the car back for the steering alignment and they said it wasn't a warranty issue. After an argument they agreed to look at it. Trouble is, the alignment is now worse but to the other side! Grrrrrr.

Clio coming Thursday higher spec for less money screw ford and screw the fiesta. Sad you've had such problems with your Fiesta. I'm on my second Mk7 and I've been very satisfied with both cars. Ford service does leave something to be desired though, it naturally varies from garage to garage but they sometimes have a disinterested attitude once they've sold you the car. If you read any particular make or model forum you will find people that have had bad experiences. It's a bit of a lottery I suppose. I did have a test drive in a Clio when looking for a small hatchback and wasn't over impressed although it was cheaper than the Fiesta and seemed a little more spacious. Bayawak
Hi! I am having a problem with my ford fiesta. Bought it just 2 months ago. farmerharry
Hello all, I have a MK7 59 plate 1.4TDCi Titanium. Got 47k miles on and picked the car up beginning of the week. I have heard today when I turn the car off there is a "humming" noise coming from the cabin. It sounds like something electric is still working (lights/radio) but i made sure everything was off, and even locked myself in to make sure it didn't go off when the car was locked. If you sit in the drivers side down by your left knee there are 3 lines into the dashboard and the noise seems to be coming from there, i went and checked a few hours later and it was still humming away. Don't know if this is normal, or anyone would know what it was? Thanks, any feedback is great ^_^
