Ben87
So the front splitter arrived today and I couldn't wait to give it a trial run fit to see what it's going to look like I apologise for the bad use of gear oil tubs it was the only things I could find at the time to prop it up with lol. Will hopefully get it fitted next Saturday when I'm off work. Sent from my KFJWI using Ford OC mobile app

Ben87
Just a small update on the mondeo finally got round to fitting the triple r composites splitter fully, really like the look of it but have to be careful when manuvering in certain places lol. Couple of pics to show. Also got my new overlay ford badges fitted after having to buy a new set because I lost the last ones! Also gave it a good clean and a well overdue polish Got a few more bits and Bob's I want to buy for it over the next couple of months if funds allow :-) Sent from my KFJWI using Ford OC mobile app

gforce
Get those headlights de-tango'd and blackeye'd mate, will finish off that frond end perfectly! Grilles and fog surrounds sprayed a matching black might complete the colour scheme. And you ever think about doing the centre bottom lip in black too? Either wrapped or sprayed. Loving the progress, giving me ideas! You got a link for those repeaters by the way? Have seen a few on the bay but worried they'll either not be dark enough or else be a poor fit, so would ideally like to get ones that I know will be good!
Ben87
Cheers for the comments Gforce :-) It's like your reading my mind lol got a set of headlights sat here stripped down ready for being painted black just not sure which chrome indicator bulbs I need for the clear look?? Any help would be appreciated. Going be spraying the grilles and surrounds black too hopefully in the the next month. I have been thinking about painting that bottom lip black and now you've mentioned it I'm gonna get it done ;-). Think it should look pretty good. Haven't got a link because I bought them when I first got the car but luckily I've found the receipt. They were off eBay, the make is AutoArt, part number FO-319. The seller was called Subzero Automotive. Hope this helps mate. Sent from my KFJWI using Ford OC mobile app
gforce
No worries mate, the bulbs you need are BA15s (aka 382 or P21W) indicator bulbs in chrome. The seller I used for mine no longer does them, but search the bay for chrome BA15s and any of those will do. Here are the cheapest one's sorted by price, they will be spot on... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CR-FR-V-S2000-BA15S-P21-Chrome-Indicator-Bulbs-/290617567434?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43aa2828ca I've just removed the orange lens cover in my headlights, but if you wanted to do a real neat OEM-look job you can fit clear lenses from the Mk1.5 Focus. They need a bit of cutting and modding to fit, and then glue in place. I actually have a pair lying in the shed somewhere, but I didn't have a rotary tool or the patience to do it by hand when I had my headlights split. But if you have a spare pair of headlights that you're not in a panic to get refitted, might be an idea to fit the lenses too while you've time? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Focus-MK-1-5-Clear-Indicator-Lenses-2001-2004-/231322498765?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AFocus&hash=item35dbe536cd Or through the seller's direct website to save the P&P/ebay fees... http://www.focusclearlens.com/contact.htm I also put in silver side repeater bulbs to lose the fried egg look in my crystal repeaters, but not sure if you need them with the smoked lenses? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chrome-Silver-Indicator-Bulbs-501-Flash-ALFA-ROMEO-Brera-2006-Amber-Orange-Rep-/280823439607?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item416261a0f7 Not sure what to do with my grilles...sometimes I think the black looks well when I see other people's pics, then other times think I wanna leave them standard. With mine being the final facelift chrome versions too, might be too much of a contrast between chrome and black. I def want to do the lower lip though, even though I've the chrome strip on the lower grille too. Actually tried it in a gunmetal shade of plasti-dip, hoping it would match my wheels, but came out far too light and didn't look right at all, so came off pretty sharpish and really need to have a go with black. Absolutely love that splitter by the way, just don't think it would last too long on some of the roads I be on! Don't even have my Eibachs in yet, lying in a box in a shed for a couple of months at this stage! Cheers for the repeater info pal, already have them in my Watched Items so will get a pair ordered now I know they're decent quality. Ben87
Cheers for the link mate I'll hopefully get them ordered this week. Luckily I've got a spare set of headlights my boss had some lying about at the garage and he said I could just have them :-). I might go for the clear lens look like you said, I'll keep an eye on them ones you sent me on that link. The smoked lenses hide the standard bulbs pretty well but I'd put your chrome ones into to really hide them. Get them painted black mate will look really good. You never thought about colour coding the chrome on the grilles? I love the splitter too and its not too bad really I've only caught it twice since its been on ;-) Sent from my KFJWI using Ford OC mobile app
Ben87
Thought I'd put a little update on as with a job change last November I've not spent as much time as I've wanted too on my car. New plans for the front of the car is bottom of bumper under lower grille to be painted black along with the headlight washer covers. The upper grille and surround are currently being done by me and a mate so hopefully a couple of more coats of primer and black and they should be good to go. Nearly had a set of black headlights done ready to be built back up but one unfortunately got damaged so on the look out for another drivers headlight to redo. Was looking to upgrade to 330mm Brembo brakes conversion on the front but found the seller to be very unhelpful and very short in his replys so decided not to buy off him. gforce
Very nice bud. Been toying with the idea of some blacks as well myself following on from my headlights. On the old Focus I did all the grilles, fog surrounds, mirror caps etc and thinking of doing the same on the Mondy. Defo doin the front middle lip part, tempted to do the other grilles, plastics and wing mirrors too. What happened with the headlight? Should be able to pick up one from a scrappy for pretty cheap I'd have thought. Actually upgraded my own headlights recently...was fed up with the HID Kit I was running in my black-eyed reflectors so a mate of mine was able to lend me a set of black-eyed genuine xenons. This meant I could have my own off the car and I installed a set of mini H1 bi-xenon projectors to them, and clear indicator lenses while I was at it...and they are possibly my favourite mod that I've done to a car. I fitted genuine black ST-3 bi-xenons to the Focus and missed them on the Mondeo. When I found out you could get the projector kit for a retro-fit install I ordered up all the parts and was able to take the time with them to do the job right. Light output is so much better than the genuine xenons I was running for a couple of weeks and they look so much better too with the aftermarket shrouds etc. Would definitely recommend them if you're up for it. Relatively straightforward to fit, easier and cheaper than a set of genuine xenons, and far better results. As usual, I have no pics of the finished article yet and didn't take many as I went along, but here's one to give you an idea...
Ben87
Cheers b4zz, one of my favourite parts I've bought for my car the splitter and I've not seen another mondeo on the road with one on yet. Thanks for the comments Gforce. I had the headlight apart just been painted at a mates garage and something fell off a top shelf and landed straight on top of it. Was gutted I had only finished it the night before lol. Them headlights look amazing would defo be interested in doing that myself, any chance you can send me the link for the parts you needed? Get all your grilles and wing mirror covers painted black mate will look really good. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Ben87
Bought these off eBay the other day can't wait to get them fitted and hopefully feel the difference. Focus st225 calipers discs and pads. Always felt that the standard mondeo brakes feel abit lacking. Gonna get them cleaned up over the next week and I think I'm gonna paint them red, should hopefully look good behind the black wheels. Gareth96
Looking good, I've just recently purchased a 2003 115 tdci as an economical bus to use on camping trips. I've always been into the Vag scene and it took me a while to find something a bit different. I did promise myself i wouldn't start tinkering. After seeing your good work you've certainly inspired me Keep up the good work :-)
Ben87
Hi, cheers for the comments Gareth I'm glad I've inspired you to start tinkering with your own :-). You should put up a post of yours when you start tinkering or if you already have done some mods. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
