Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Engine Problem

Hey, I'm new to this so I'll try give as much info as I can.

I have a ford focus style 2008 1.6 tdci 110bhp, I was driving down the motorway when I lost power in 4th

And 5th gear, my breakdown service took my car to a local garage and told me my turbo had gone. They replaced my turbo which cost me £450 and apparently gave me a service. After a week they asked me to come pick my car up. The garage then test drove it to make sure it was running properly and I drove away.

The car seemed to have a drop in power and didn't accelerate near as good as it did before but I though maybe that was because the turbo was new and needed beddin in. 10 miles down the road I start getting weird vibrations from the engine area and then large knocking and clunking sounds so again I pulled over and called my breakdown. They took it back to the same local garage in which this time they decide to tell me it was a faulty fuel injector, In which they replaced and charged me £100 ish. That never fixed the problem. In the end they decided to say they didn't have a clue and asked me to take the car away saying they couldn't do anything. Yet they said if we could get hold of a engine to put in they would fit it free of charge which we thought was weird. When the car got back to my house I checked the oil and discovered there wasn't a drop of oil on the stick in which I think they forgot to put oil in when they told me to drive it away. So I've taken this matter to a small courts thing and recently he admitted part fault and offered to give me £590 back but I have to give him the turbo back, which I obviously said no and I'm taking it all the way as I had to struggle without a car through all this. I was wondering what my best option would be as the car does still start and had a very loud knocking noise could that be cause there is no oil in it? And could it be fixed or would I need a new engine. It's only done just over 100000 miles

Sorry for the long reading, just wanted to give as much Info as I could.

All answers will be appreciated thank you.

sounds like a cowboy garage there mate, just guessing and wanted screw money out of you.... grab them by the balls, and you want a new complete engine with aux's turbo etc..... deffo trading standards, claims court etc..... you do have a strong case... the loud knocking noise is the bottom of the engine getting ready to explode

It's a brand new turbo as far as I can tell they said I got a 6 month warranty with it but it just looks like a !Removed! receipt doesn't even say warranty o. On it, But yeah I've asked for £1500 on the small claims court so if we win he will have to give me the money but that's gonna take up to 6 month, I didn't even get more than 10 mile out of it before the engine started making noises,

a new ford turbo costs like 800 quid, its prolly one of the cheap Chinese rip off ones for like 2 tonne.... a receipt, signature and date is all you need, trading standards will do the rest.....

Through the claims court he offered to give me 590 but in return we have to give the turbo back, so I've said no cause he admitted part fault so I'm taking it all the way. Yeah your right

best thing do, is get trading standard in, and tell them the crack..... they may ask you to send ur engine/car of to a expert and they will dismantle the engine etccc to find problem of death... give you in return a price for a new one and a write up of cause of death... bit like a postmortem

I had a feeling about that too, I even check the oil today to be sure and not a drop is on the stick, I'm gonna get hold of a jack and some axel stands to see if sump plug is in or not too, any ideas on we're I could get an engine from and what engine code it would be, I'm useless at this stuff ha

Any good mechanic would have to ask question is why turbo went in first place not just bolt new one an u said charged u 450 was that turbo an service an how could there be no oil in engine

They told me that's once your turbo goes fragments get mixed in with the oil or something so it would need changing several times and I think they they forgot to put the oil back in. So yeah I'm gonna do everything I can, !Removed! love that car. Only had it a year and half. I'll have to look into the trading standards one, could my engine be dismantled and repaired or would it be cheaper to buy new engine?

Depends on how turbo fails if turbo breaks up u then u remove the sump an clean everything out an replace turbo feed an return pipe or a good clean u don't run the engine wit metal particles an try changing oil load times he must be a right thick
