Hi Mark,

Sounds like it could be something either fuel filter related, or perhaps turbo pipe / hose related.

do you hear any whistles at all? if not I would suggest checking when the fuel filter was last replaced.

How often do you use supermarket fuel?

Thanks for reply mate, it always does a whistle at 2000rpm but not afterwards but it's dine that since I've had the car, fuel filter was done about 10000 miles ago

If thats ten thousand then its probable that the winter would have had an affect on the fuel filter and would have helped to gunge it up, so I wouldnt rule out the idea of replacing it.

As for the whistle, I suggest you pop the bonnet and let the engine idle, then check around the turbo hoses and pipes with your hand to see if you can feel any air blowing out. It would be handy to have someone in the driver seat to rev the engine up in stages to see if there is a leak around the 2000 revs mark.

i too suspect the fuel filter. my last tdi went sluggish after winter and once i did a fuel filter change it was back to normal.
