Hi, firstly does anybody have a kuga 1.6 petrol Ecoboost?

I have recently re located and now live closer to work therefore my daily commute is about six miles to work every day (this is three miles each way). The mrs will do the odd 20 mile journey during the week and the rest is down to weekend trips.

I'm considering a kuga later this year, I know 2.0 diesel may not be the best of option but just how juicy is the 1.6 Ecoboost and what does it drive like?

Are residual values likely to be a problem with this engine?

Any comments or thought both positive and negative are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately I dont have one, but as a general guidance, I would say go with the 1.6, you do get less power, but you do save more fuel. It really depends on your power expectations though.

from a personal point of veiw i would always go for the bigger engine, admitidly i havnt driven either and dont know how they react, but a few years ago i had a fooksol zafira mk2 1.6 ltr on hire.and it put the fear of christ up me,felt totally uneasy pulling away from junctions and roundabouts because it was totally gutless.i was having to rev the nuts off of it and the thing just sat there.

i used to own a tdi mk1 zaffy and that went like stink as soon as you pressed the go pedal there was instance response .

bear in mind these are not small cars to be pulled by a small engine.

best thing i can suggest is to give both versions a really good test drive.

Test drive is definately the key here as Greg said. Otherwise you will spend all your days wondering why you didnt try :p

Bit late replying to this one but I recently got a 2.0 TDCI I put £70 of fuel in and this gave me 540 miles last week that's combined miles with motorway. Really impressed with it only a Zetec spec 2009 model but love it.
