Dayce95
Hello, I'm new to this forum so please, be nice lol. I've recently bought a Fiesta MK5 Finesse with the 1.3 engine and I was just wondering as to when to start getting worried about the engine temperature. When I have the heater on full the temp stays only just above the black bar on the gauge, but when it's on cool it goes straight to the middle, sometimes a little higher. Is this something to be worried about as a lot of people I know with this model Fiesta, their temp gauge stays quite low. Sorry if this seems like a daft question, oh and when the heaters on full, it's hot, and I mean, HOT. Thanks in advance.

Dayce95
Thing is, I don't dare to put the heater all the way to the coldest setting, just incase so I'm forever driving with my windows open!

Dayce95
Looks easy enough to replace, looks like it could do with all new coolant as well, also could do with a damn good service (100571 miles when I got out earlier) so should be fun lol. Will keep my eye on the problem :)
Gpallett
I had the same problem with my 1.25, when I took the water pump off all the teeth on were practically gone, so should try looking at that.
Dayce95
UPDATE: Went on a decent motorway run today, and decided to put temp all way down to cold, had no effect on the engine, stayed nice and cool while doing 70-75 ish, only started to creep up when coming off the motorway and at 30mph, but nothing to cause concern. Probably just me worrying over nothing, new car to me and all that lol.
Nighthawk
Once warm the gauge shouldn't vary much if at all. If it doesn't get chance to warm up it will be running inefficiently so using more fuel etc. Sent from my HUAWEI Ascend P2 using Ford OC mobile app
