Supersons Posted April 30, 2014 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Hi, I have upgraded my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S4 from a Samsung Galaxy S2. However I cannot connect my phone to my Sony CD6000 Radio. Code does not appear when I try to pair. I have tried looking at the compatibility list on the ford site but the link does not work. Stoney871 Posted May 1, 2014 Share Posted May 1, 2014 I believe that only a total of 6 phnes can be bonded to the BT module at any time so deleting old ones is definitely a good start. JW1982 Posted May 9, 2014 Share Posted May 9, 2014 Which year is your Focus and which type of radio is installed? The 6000CD and Sony are 2 different radio's. The 6000CD is the standard Ford radio which is made by Visteon and has nothing to do with Sony. The Sony is the Original premium radio which was available in single CD or 6-CD changer version with or without DAB. The Sony is also made by Visteon but is licensed by Sony. Focus MK2 and early MK2.5 versions (until approximately 04-2008) do have the old Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system which uses Bluetooth/Voicecontrol modules which can not be updated. My experience is that many newer phones are not supported and do not function correctly with the old system. Later Focus MK2.5 versions (after approximately 04-2008) do have the new Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system. Modules of this system can be updated to support newer phones. Modules which do not support USB playback (part number 8M5T-19G488-XX) do have a USB connector for update purposes. These modules can only be updated by Ford. Modules which support USB and bluetooth Audio (A2DP) playback (part number 8M5T-19C112-XX can be updated by performing the Ford Audio Update which can be downloaded from the Ford website. If your car has the old Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system and your Phone is not supported it probably will never work. If your car has the new Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system the problem may be solved by updating the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol module firmware. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JW1982 Posted August 8, 2014 Share Posted August 8, 2014 You possibly might have the wrong type of Sony radio. In fact there are 2 types of Sony radio. The 2nd Generation Sony and the 3rd Generation Sony. These radio's look identical but are technically different. The 2nd Generation Sony was originally installed into the late Focus MK2 (produced after 26-03-2007) and early Focus MK2.5 (produced before 10-04-2008). This type of radio is designed for the old Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system and combined with the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system only supports Phone functionality. The 3rd Generation Sony was Originally installed into the Focus MK2.5 (produced after 10-04-2008). This type of radio is designed for the new Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system and combined with the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system supports Phone functionality and (depending on the type of module) also USB, bluetooth Audio and Ipod control. Radio's and Bluetooth/Voicecontrol modules of the old and new Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system are not compatible. If your car is modelyear 2009 it has the new Bluetooth/Voicecontrol system. So your Sony radio needs to be a 3rd generation Sony. If you have a 2nd Generation Sony installed the Bluetooth/Voicecontrol functions do not work correctly or do not work at all. Whether your radio is a 2nd or 3rd Generation Sony can only be determined by the production date of the radio and the part number of the radio. There is a sticker on top of the Sony radio's listing the production date. For a 3rd Generation radio the production date must be 04-2008 or later. The very early 3rd Generation Sony radio's did have a firmware version which does not support USB.
