Hi everyone,

The 1st of May has finally come!! (For me)

After a long 6 months wait over the winter period, I've just got my xr out ready to have some fun and hit the local car shows :-) treating it to a service today, once I've got it started, due to the battery is flat!

Anyway, thought I'd show you all my car! post-49728-139907560634_thumb.jpgpost-49728-139907565426_thumb.jpg

Nice car - Just as a matter of interest the black and silver plates are not road legal on that age of car - do you ever get pulled for them or are they just for the shows/ off-road?

As I mentioned once before on here, I bought a fairly new XR3i in 1985 (showing my age a bit)and really loved it. The reg wasA148 KEY. It was the same colour as yours. The one you have looks to be in nice condition. I go to a lot of classic cars

shows but rarely see an XR3 or XR3i. The can't be that many around so look after yours and enjoy.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments.

Defiantly will be keeping hold of her!

As for the plates, yes there illegal. Although since I've had them on, I haven't taken them off... Unless I get pulled over!!

Spoke to a couple of people at the shows I attend and they have never been pulled over for it.

We must have some very lazy coppers out there! Lol

I carry the legal ones with me all the time, so I can just swap over, I keep them on double sided velcro, so I can take off and on with ease

Nice car Martyn. I used to have an RS Turbo and those and the XR3i were lovely cars. Are you taking it to Ford Fair?
