Well the engine is in, turns over but won't fire into life......think it's something electrical, so my Dad is coming over in the morning to have a look. :)

All sorted now, thanks to my Dad.....all up and running. Few bits to sort out still, align exhaust properly, clean up brake discs, and a few other bits before it gets painted. :D

I noticed you turned the oil breather around, was going to ask if the bonnet would still close. The car's looking fantastic.

Old carpet is out, sound deadening is nearly dry, all plastics, seats etc all cleaned. All surface rust treated and painted (not much to do). Parcel shelf re-coloured in grey. All external plastics re-blacked ready for when the car is painted. Just got to clean roof lining and dash then fit the new grey carpet.

Sorry only one pic lol

Looks good. I don't think ford got the speaker covers quite right, the ones in my dad's XR3i don't match any of the interior.

Is it a vinyl paint you've used on the plastics? Might go a bit flaky otherwise.

Cheers. It's plastic primer, and plastic enamel....used it before, so should be ok. :)

Will be respraying the spoiler and mirrors tomorrow as the satin black is too shiney, more like semi gloss!.....got some Hycote body shop satin, tested it and loads better. Also going to fit the new brake shoes, cylinders, discs pads, and braided lines. May paint drums, calipers and solid lines too.....if I've got time. :-)

Re-sprayed the spoiler and mirrors. As I wasn't happy with the semi gloss finish. This satin black is actually satin black lol :)

Cheers Mate, slowly getting there.....only trouble is you do one job, and end up with another lol

Like the stereo isn't holding its memory, the power has been run from the cigar lighter (by a previous owner). So need to run a power straight to the battery with a inline fuse. :-)

Yeah looking good, funny what a difference the Matt look gives. Kinda shame the classic alloys don't let you see the discs and brakes much.

Looks really clean on the inner arches, just polish those up. Plastics come up well with t-cut. Coolant & washer bottle can be removed and soaked in washing powder overnight. Rocker cover use normal two pack paint. Metal parts like brake servo, wiper arms, etc can be sprayed with hammerite. Engine block can be brush painted with hammerite.

Just seen this dash come up on eBay http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/251614945943?nav=SEARCH I still think it's expensive, but that's up to you. :)
