Upgrading Radio S-Max Titanium Sport

I have just bought a 2010 S-max Titanium x sport (very nice) and i'm not that impressed with the radio sound quality, I have a sony single cd player dab radio but not sure if it's been upgraded to the Sony Premium Audio System with DAB Radio/CD&USB not sure how to tell?

Anyway, will upgrading to sat nav give me better audio or is it a speaker issue, and what one should i be looking to buy?

Upgrade to the Blaupunkt NAV unit. The sony units are not very good.

Either the FX or the NX unit.

The FX unit is easiest to retro fit as you don't need to change the dash fascia or frame.

Sound quality will improve.

That's great thanks, do you know the difference between the two units and were I can purchase them from?

FX unit is menu controlled with 2D mapping with maps on SD card.

NX unit is touchscreen and has a bigger screen with 3D mapping - the early versions have maps on DVD, the later have them on SD card.

Can be bought from Ford for mega-bucks or from eBay (£300-ish for the FX unit, £500 for the NX unit).

Yes - new fascia & mounting cage (or modification to the existing cage).

And you may need an IDS session to enable your HVAC controls to work properly also.

The FX unit is a much more straightforward swap.
