Mondeo Mk4 Under Door Trim

Hi All

I've recently bought a 2010 Mondeo estate, it's a lovely car and I'm delighted with it. I have come across one small problem though, the trim/seal strip that runs under both doors on the passenger side is loose. I've put a photo to show the bit I mean, the black rubbery strip that is covered when the doors are closed. It's fixed at either end but the middle flaps quite a bit whenever someone gets out of the passenger side. I can't see any fixing bits missing so I can only assume I should be glued, although I can't see any residue from any previous gluing...

Does anyone know the best way to go about getting it sorted?

Thanks

It would probably need a new part, sounds like the clips have snapped off.

Mine does it too, the clips are a bit delicate and snap if you catch them with your feet. It's not glued. There are tiny mushroom shaped clips that push in to 2 or 3mm holes along the sill. I keep meaning to pop in to a dealer to get some. Can't imagine they cost much and not tools required to fit them. Just a bit fiddley tho

I had that problem with mine it is the clips snapped the only way to make it last is to take the seal off and replace all the clips i bought these ones and I have never had the problem since and the kids always catch them

Thanks for this guys!

I've had this problem with the drivers side seal - I thought it was going to mean buying a new one but if the clips can be replaced that's going to be a bit easier on the wallet.

May get a few spares in too - I'm always catching the seal with my size 10's!!

Ours is the same, massive design flaw IMO.

I'll be buying some of those clips though.

Thanks for posting the link - got to be worth a try.

I can only confirm what Italiot has said.... Same problem with mine! Ordered the same item190949727812 off eBay. Keep a few spare in the car just in case. A guy I know told me that taxi drivers are always buying the clips as passengers break them getting in and out all day long! Design flaw o guess!!

I always have some spare clips as to replace them you have to remove the seal - on my last estate the seal was missing when I bought and it cost me  £25 to buy a replacement  as there were hardly any Mondeos in breakers yards now around where  I live there are quite a few  as they are all ex taxis handy for clips , seals and bits etc.
