karlos1987
Can anyone tell me how to replace the fuel filter on my focus please. Car has done 50,000 and I have not had it changed in the 2 and half years I've owned it. Sent from my C5303 using Ford OC mobile app
frostman83
I have always thought that the fuel filter is in the fuel tank and not accessible?
karlos1987
Really? I wouldn't no to be honest. Just thought it might be worth changing? Would euro car parts sell a replacement if it's not accessible? Sent from my C5303 using Ford OC mobile app
artscot79
its a lifetime non replaceable filter to replace you have to buy a new fuel pump
karlos1987
Oh ok. Not worth just replacing for the sake of it then? Sent from my C5303 using Ford OC mobile app

jeebowhite
This confuses me a little, as I had a 55 plate Focus Zetec Climate (MK2) and the fuel filter was under the bonnet... I remember vividly that they had to replace the fuel filter under there because the housing was damaged and had to be replaced as it was sucking air in and stalling the engine. It wasnt a VCT like Arthurs, so perhaps that is the difference, and I believe the MK2.5 was when they moved it as an integral part of the pump, but thats my 2p's worth! karlos1987
Mines a 2008 mk2.5 so 1 of the first mk2.5s. It should say in the Haynes manual? I'll have to dig it out when I've finished my beer. jeebowhite
damn you for mentioning beer, I am now looking outside wishing I was at the pub! The Haynes should state that much is true, it should have a pre 2007 section on the job and a post 2007 section.

Focus 2011
Hi, I believe you will find that 2011 mk3 ti-vct petrol engines do not have a fuel filter, rather a fuel strainer within the tank and not really serviceable part.
