t_dubz
Hello I am a complete newbie to modifying cars and the do's and don'ts in terms of practicalities. Recently at the ripe old age of 26 got a ford focus estate in black. First time on my own insurance and car has a low mileage (less than 15000) so i want to do my first modified project It has always been on my to do list especially with an estate. But at the moment i am looking for ideas or suggestions of what i can do to it. My initial idea was to go stealth euro look. I want to keep the bodywork standard, but lower suspension and lower profile tyres but retain a 15inch alloy. Black out the read windows and a decent i.c.e install. At the moment it is very much a blank page for ideas, so any suggestion is great! Very minimal work would be done by myself as my friend works in a garage and would do the work there. I may put a build thread together once the project gets underway. I can upload pictures of the car tomorrow if that would help get the inspirational Juices flowing. Many thanks Tom

Lenny
There was a member on here went by the name ''Big Daddy Kane" the guy had skills to burn, Ford never built an ST estate until 2013 with the release of the Mk3 ST This guy custom built his own estate version of the rear bumper and custom duplex exhaust, The 5 door skirts and front end were all a straight fit but the rear bumper was true skill, Sadly he hasn't been online in over a year, I sometimes wonder what members like himself are doing now, I'm a firm believer he has done some other master pieces since then because people who perfect such items develop a motivation to continue at such, Anyways here's some pictures I'm a huge fan of his work: Check out the build yo: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/30334-how-do/ Check out the build yo: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/30334-how-do/
Lenny
Or If you change the bonnet. Front side wings and front bumper, You could build an RS Estate, Same 5 door side skirts and could custom build the rear end.

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC shouldnt be any issue with width/depth anyways as ST rims are 8" wide and fit no problem, I think 19" RS are 8.5 so you should be fine once the hub is a 5 bolt some Rota Grids would also look sweet

t_dubz
All modifications should be reported for safety. Thanks jeebowhite. I shall contact the insurance company if i plan to change my wheels. My initial intention is to powdercoat the existing ones body coloured and fit lower profile tyres. This is just a first phase thing and then later on in the project if funds will allow I will look into a different set of wheels perhaps
jeebowhite
I would call them and give them a list of ALL mods you want to make to the car. You dont even need to have to have them on your car there and then, but if they want to charge you £40 admin fee each time you want to make a change, its better telling them there and then in one go, then just do the car up to the specs.
