jeebowhite
what do you mean "a bit too far under"?
katelyndon
the back sticks out about 23 inches from lights underneath

jeebowhite
ah ok, so you mean the bodywork overhangs the lights by too much for it to be comfortably seen?
katelyndon
yes, i think it hangs too far, what do you think
jeebowhite
from what I gather, there is nothing I have seen that specifies the distance from the rear of the vehicle, however, common sense would say you cannot have it greater than about 15cm from the rear of the vehicle. katelyndon
thank you, i thought it was a bit much. we will have to put a extension on the body, but thanks for your help

Stoney871
Lights should be level with the back of the body so as to avoid anyone following you from misjudging the length of your vehicle and rear ending you.
jeebowhite
Clive, on some flatbeds there are some minor indentations, are you aware of the official regulation, as I looked at the lighting regulations and couldnt see anything other than the distance between each of the light clusters off to near side, but couldnt see anything else. katelyndon
i think so too, he even cut the back board to size out of one of the sides of the old back, as this back we bought had a tail lift on and the old back board was too small. so yeh he (my husband) did a good job, and yes i did help, if it was only holding the boards while he cut them too size
