Jonny87
My update that I got on Thursday evening saying that it is in the country and should be at dealers by today has turned out to be untrue... :( I took a walk down to the dealership today, expecting the car to be there, and to be able to at least register it and have a wee look BUT NO No car, no paperwork, no nothing. AT ALL Turns out the car isn't even in the country as previously stated Infact the TDD has now been put back to week ending 13th June That will be at the end of week 12 of my wait So as of today, I am looking at up to another fortnight untill I recieve - 14 weeks total wait Not happy people.... I suppose I could be poitive and say "Well if its week ending 13th then it could be here on monday, I could have it by the end of next week" but I know that's never going to happen... If they can put it back by a week, what the hell is stopping them putting it back another week, and then another..... So what do I know now?? All I know is that its at port on the other side of the channel and that "it should be here by the 13th June, but thats just an estimate, it could take a bit longer" also I previoulsy thought (before I got back to the flat) that I now knew the VIN, but no, cos it isn't actually a VIN.... This is not not only !Removed! me off a bit, but has now started to cause major inconvenience, as I no longer have a car REALLY not happy. Well you see, cos I was half expecting it to be there when I arrived, I had a really good look around and I am fairly certain it isnt there. I had to walk around near enough the entire dealership to get to the office as well... Actually the place was beginning to look a bit bare! still no KA's in, and only about 2 fiestas.... amyjaj
I know how you feel. I haven't driven since I passed my test back in March. My dad has made me book more driving lessons because he doesn't want me smashing the thing up when I do get it, it's been that long. the 12 weeks they said it would be ends Monday, then I found the target date has moved to the 27 June. I don't want to phone the again to have more disappointment
paulworthing
Guessing that the 13 weeks from my date of ordering to the 1st September is not going to be long enough for me to get the car on time - and to top it all, because my trade in was a convertible and would drop in value at the end of the summer, I have already given them my car as deposit/px so without a car already . . . . I might need lessons too by the time it is delivered to remind me what to do with all the pedals, sticks and wheel!
Burton
im really sry for u m8! im kinda shocked how u as customers are treated. <_< but ur dealers in the uk seem to have a bad customer service... my dealer gave me a courtesy car for free for as long as it would have taken to get my fiesta. and they really bothered getting it as soon as possible as they put some pressure on the haulier. it all worked out as my dealer promised. edit: no offence ronnie, perhaps its just ford uk i dunno how all that stuff works but it seems to go smoother here

My dealer has told me exactly the same about the hauliers, he says that the dealership has absolutely no control or say in things until the hauliers have it. Which sounds right to me. He said when the hauliers have it then they can put pressure on. I have been treated really well by my dealer and so far can not identify any wrong doing on their part. If I dont have my car by the end of next week then I will be requesting a hire car, and I will be expecting it to be free, or at least very cheap. MichellefromEssex
What a bummer, I really feel for you mate x Paul - Re the part x of your car, why have you already handed your car in? we part x our car and change over took place the day we picked ours up - we just swapped keys and paper work that day, not the day we agreed on ordering the car. paulworthing
Im geussing it was scrappage if u have handed ur p/x in already? Oh no, it was an 05 Smart For Two Convertible - but as they pointed out if I handed it over at the end of the summer they would give me less (approximatly 800 less) plus the fact it needed an MOT and a full service (another 250+) so to keep it for another 3 months would have meant a drop of about 1,000 so it made more sense to hand it over. I should be able to cope bearing in mind that I average 3,500 miles PER YEAR
Aitchess
Im geussing it was scrappage if u have handed ur p/x in already? Speaking of scrappage, isn't there also a clause where the manufacturer/dealer can say no to the scrappage deal when the new car can't be delivered within 4 months? Starting to look like Fiestas could be getting dangerously close to that sort of a delay (and from what I read here, maybe Ka's already are taking too long to build to remain eligible). It's because convertibles tend to be a specialist sale apparently....... :(
DanGull
Oh dear Jonny - that's not good. Definitely ask for them to provide a vehicle. I was at the dealer this morning to add a spare wheel, and was told that I couldn't because my car is down to be built in a fortnight. I don't believe that for a second!! poohbear
Sorry to hear about this. The day you get your car will come, promise! I know how awful the waiting is believe me.
Jonny87
well well well.... You'll never guess what happened today. I got myself ready to add another fortnight onto my waiting time and headed down the dealers... I took a really long walk around the dealers to check to see if it was there and it wasnt. Then I walked into the office and the general manager was there, he came over and said "it's here" I replied by almost !Removed! myself and saying "you have got to be sh*tting me" Then he explained that it was all good and that it was at the ford garage accross the road having the sport pack put on. My god, the wait is finally coming to an end. Pick up will be wednesday at the latest Total wait: 12 and a half weeks I really hope that it is actually here this time, and I haven't been fooled, else I kill

paulworthing
Bet you can't wait to get it out on the road now. Just hope that mine is delivered within that sort of time frame as 13 weeks and 1 day from the date of order will be the 1st September . . . Well I ordered a hi-spec 3dr titanium, so I would imagine that if your car is like mine you will be looking at a wait of at least 13 weeks... which is bad... unless you want a 59 plate... 6 sleeps to go - yaaaaaayyyyy :) :D I know! To be honest as it is not going to get here until August anyway I am kind of resigned to not picking it up until 1 Spetember and get it on a 59 plate anyway. Just hope it is here in time for that as although it is not the first new car I have had it would be the first one for me to drive out of the dealers on the day the new registrations come out
