Guest Posted June 29, 2014 Share Posted June 29, 2014 HI all, ive sourced the parts for this from my local scrappy for £80 the lot, I didn't see the focus these bits came from but there a reliable scrappy always go there and they assured me that these bit will do. So I got new pads and disc's and handbrake cables, the disc are 253mm in diameter. The issue is everything came apart nicely no issues what so ever until I put the disc hub and caliper on for the disc's. Thing is ive have gone to put the handbrake cable in and where it sits on the caliper it wont go in due to the sub frame in the way. The caliper sits towards the back of the car. Guest Posted June 29, 2014 Share Posted June 29, 2014 Hi guys yeah I went back out to the car and had a look and yeah in the rush off getting them back together after taking them apart silly me got them the wrong way. lol. well tomorrow I will redo them easy to do, god knows how I managed to get them confused to be honest guess I didn't take much notice on taking them apart. But this was/is such an easy job. Probably best to stick to the (original disc brake) design as it may have been done like that for a reason (ie, the rubber is flexable, it insulates to a certain degree etc, the copper is not/ does not) - if it had a "holder bit" probably best to get that too When it comes to brakes best to do it right and not cut corners Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted June 30, 2014 Share Posted June 30, 2014 Hi guys ive added a third photo to this topic, with shows the rubber hose support I had to go get from the scrappy, as you can tell don't quite fit nice, so wqas wondering if I order a 440/450 rubber hose would this be ok for it to sit between the two red boxes, so one end in the caliper and the other straight to the copper end removing the two little rubber hoses and just having one long one instead??? Guest Posted July 1, 2014 Share Posted July 1, 2014 well I will order a pair, from euros £8.99 each I got the brackets from a focus for a clean fit had to undo and remove a bolt it to fit, its like a C shape so the hose should just clip in, this way looks nicer than the copper pipe. where did you get ur silver ones from?? The metal bracket my hose passed through should have been for a rigid pipe IIRC (it's coming back to me) but I super glued in a rubber grommet to stop it running the hose Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
