Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Ford Etis, Thoughts

Hi all, My son is looking at a 2yr old Metal but Etis says "no information could be found for the VIN/Registration number you entered."

When entering Reg on an Insurance comparison site it comes up with the correct car.

I thought all newer cars would be registered on Etis.

Any views would be appreciated

Have you tried it by VIN rather than reg? Is it the original reg & not a private plate?

Cheers iNath, Thought about private plate but doesn't look private. All letters/numbers correct for year and doesn't spell anything. VIN i haven't got so will have to pay a visit.

It's possible that the car had a personal reg when it was new and the old owner has taken it off. Etis will only recognise the original registered plate or VIN number. I had this with my personalised plate.

Had the same when I bought my Metal. It was originally registered with a private plate which the owner retained.

The only way to find it on Etis is with the original reg or the VIN.

A new reg was allocated when I bought it which does show up on insurance comparison websites.

It may have been bulk dealer stock, ordered without having a preordered customer, so no Regd No allocated till delivered at dealers.

FoMoCo cars aren't always registered also.
